Asus Transformer Prime is world's fastest tablet - News - PC & Tech Authority & http://www.stuff.tv/news/computers-...sus-transformer-prime-launching-on-november-9 Yep! According to PCAuthority's website and Stuff.tv, this new Asus Transformers Prime could be release as soon as November 9th. If someone else already posted this, I didn't find it, I'm sorry and would a mod please merge the topics at least. Anyways, it's supposed to be faster than the Eee Pad Transformers. Both are too expensive for me to jump into. jD001
LOL, i kind of can't believe Hasbro is letting ASUS get away with that name ~ is there some kind of licensing deal set up? Or are they jsut waiting for the lawsuit?
Prime is a pretty generic term that can't be held by Hasbro. Now if they called it asus optimus prime theyd be screwed.
Yeah, but calling it "Transformer Prime" is something else. That would be like if a stero company made a system called Sonic, then updated it to call it Sonic Hedgehog. Both are generic terms but together, forms a copy right violation.
yeah, it's not using Prime, it's the Combo of "Transformer and Prime" (not to mention calling the processor 'Kal El')
Update: New Pics of Asus Transformer Prime: Asus Transformer Prime Hands On [Pictures] Wow. Definately too rich for my blood. Pretty fast and sleek if you ask me. jD001
Hasbro won't bother with the name. The name rights only apply within specific categories of mechandise. This is in a category where there is no reasonable chance of a consumer being confused into thinking that this is a Hasbro or a Transformers branded product. Therefore, no conflict, and no grounds for an objection by Hasbro trying to defend their property.
