Same here. I'm still on the fence with wave 2, because I don't want to get stuck with those figures if there's no chance of getting He-Man or Skeletor.
The shipping is still free, just an FYI! I ordered a pack of the Hover Bots and two Horde Troopers. Still backordered, but at least ordered!
Hmm. So I spent an hour or so getting my 200x MOTU's out on display. Sitting atop my Detolfs in the mancave! I deffo need risers.
Stupid question, but what do they mean by "Backordered"? Are they saying more will be made? Also, any new updates from Super 7 on the MOTUC releases beyond it being 6/31?
I was reviewing my MOTUC collection yesterday and I dont feel like I need to collect these new animated models anymore, so I will drop that altogether. I will keep the MOTUC and will add anything among those line; after all they are intended to be representation of the vintage toyline which is what I enjoyed as a kid.
Well, I got Acrylic risers now so He-man/Battlecat and Skeletor/Panthor are raised above their comrades/minions! Also, I thought an all goodie shelf was a bit... boring. So now it's half bad guys and half goodies, which is a lot more interesting! Anyway I reckon this is it for now. The only thing I might change is swapping Snake Hunter He-Man for King Hiss... Also He-Man took Battlecat out for a stroll yesterday...
I'm guessing they (Digital River) had some ordered to be made at a factory, prior to their license expiring, and are getting that final batch soon, or they had a bunch sitting in a warehouse somewhere unaccounted for until now.
If their inventory manager hadn't been so hell-bent on controlling exactly how many sold at exactly what time(s), they would've been through their stock long before MattyCollector closed.
Yea, these new versions look nice in their own way, but I prefer how they looked in the original toy line as opposed to how they looked in the Filmation cartoon. (Plus there is no way to get a blue Faker since he never appeared in the show). On the plus side, these figures look colorful and bright as opposed to the more muted color schemes of their "toy" versions. Oh, and Evil-Lyn and Teela are also available in the updated female bucks, something that really bugs me about their vintage versions. (I hate how the two main female characters are still stuck in those old, outdated stiff bodies).
She was released after the actual 200X line had been stopped by Mattel and NECA had picked up the licence with the intention of carrying on with the unreleased Four Horsemen designs. I didn't know this but Mattel refused to give NECA the right to make articulated action figures, so NECA made action figure sized statues instead, the 'staction figure' line which don't move but display flawlessly with the original 200X figures (which kinda tells you how well sculpted/painted the 200X line was). NECA Ministatues Whoa, looking at it some of these staction figures are worth a lot. Blimey. I only have two though, the Sorceress and Battle Armour He-Man. And the materials used are different, it confused the hell out of me when I went through my MOTU stuff and found a battle axe and power sword that were a different plastic to everything else. I completely forgot the Battle Armour He-Man came with those!
Mattel can't unload this stuff fast enough: Mattel Masters Of The Universe Classics Figures 40% Off On WalMart https://www.walmart.com/search/?cat...ahead=masters+of+the+univ#searchProductResult
Don't worry once they clear the stock all the price will spring back up. I have watched this happen so many times.
^He's right, you know. Prices on some of the items are already back to normal. Point Dread went from $75 to $125 and Buzzsaw Hordak from $16.80 to $28.00.
Got my order in for the Collector's choice. Shipping wasn't bad at all, almost offsets the price... almost. There is also supposed to be some surprise, but I have no idea what it is.
