Since ToyArk sucked up the last thread, thought I'd kick off a new one.

thread for all stuff Masters of the Universe Classics related.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't believe Stratos is sold out already. I was all set to buy another pair and 'poof'. If I miss Tri-Klops when he comes out, I'll freak.

I only got one Skeletor, and now I don't know if I want to open him or not. All the others I got two. That damned Adam Strange pack kept me from swiping two skellys at once and when I went back to get another a day later, 'poof'.

Problem is now with He-Man, Skeletor and Beast-Man going for insane amounts of money on eBay. Everyone is going to buy an extra figures to sell. Mattel really just needs to do another run of "sold-out" figures. I have 1 of each figure released so far. But if this line really is for collectors, then produce more figures. I could care less if the secondary value of them drop. Sadly only 4 months in, this line has went from "Collector Line" to "Investor Line." If you wait even 48 hrs after a figure's initial release to order it you lose out.

Exactly. I haven't bothered since it's turned into something that is only driven by a secondary market. I have no idea why they set the limit at 10 per order. That sort of policy is just encouraging scalpers.

Exactly. I was waiting on He-Man to get him with Skeletor and save shipping as I did not want Beastman but no this stupid high limit let the scalpers drain them and then hit Ebay with them. Now I'm out unless there is a second run on them or a 2-Pack.

Yeah I wanted to get on board with this line also but Im not going to pay scalpers for the main figures. If they do a second run Im in, if not oh well no big loss.

Guys, I recall Mattel saying that they will do a second run for previous released characters such as He-man - at least if I recall correctly. This is currently my fave toyline and *ahem even better than TFs! XD

Mattel's been great about making adjustments to accomodate customers on this line, as far as I can tell. I wouldn't pay scalper's prices, as I'm confident they'll do second runs of these figures. How could they not with He-Man and Skeletor. I don't know why they don't do a subscription service.

In the end, it seems it would work out well for Mattel. Make the figures seem scarce so those on the fence will move to want to buy them. Those that don't buy the scalper offerings, will then immediately buy a second run (as some here have suggested they'll do). They sell out of their first run due to money-grubbing scalpers and will sell out the second run due to people not wanting to miss out once again. I'd like to pick up Skeletor and Beast Man, so I'm hoping you guys are right.

That would have been a brilliant idea for them.

I hope they do make more. I need another skelly. Its such a kick-ass line, everyone deserves a shot at its somewhat affordable retro love.

So weird that only six months ago we were all debating whether its worht it at $20 a fig, and now thanks to scalpers, that seems like a bargain. At the NYCC people were ordering them like they were buying McDonalds. They were like, "gimme 3 He-Man, 2 Beast-Man, and 4 Fakers". I tried to buy two Beast-Man figures and they--ironically--told me, "the limit is one per person" so a friend helped me out. Why 1 per person there and 10 per person online when the amount of buyers is even larger?

I like this line I really do but it has become too scalper friendly which I don't like and could turn away the casual collector like myself if I miss a character.I went to order today thinking no big deal its only Stratos, people were saying he would last at least 5 weeks since he wasn't as popular as the first three and poof sold out even faster than Skeletor. The only good thing with the glitch of the Matty website I still had a Stratos waiting in my cart when I first put him in there the first day it was being sold thats how I got my Skeletor days even after the site said it was sold out

I can't believe Stratos is sold out already! I sincerely, hope its not scalpers that are buying the majority of this line but genuine fans.

I really love this line. I actually bought myself and my brother a Faker from ebay so I didn't have to worry about missing him. It is almost as you have to order on day 1 minute 1 to get them. Hopefully they get the idea and make larger numbers of them.

I figure they will rerelease them later with a different paint job or something later. I'm hoping for a 2000 style release myself, at least for skeletor. I figure a He-man Skeletor 2 pack will come out eventually.

Haven't checked MattyCollector.com since I ordered Stratos the first day he went live...he's sold out already?! Wow, that was fast.

Then again, I only ordered him b/c I figured he would sell out (eventually) and that if I had one it would be good trade fodder down the road for something else I may want. I'll probably end up keeping him since I already have the rest (and Faker on his way). I bet a lot of people who were on the fence about Stratos ordered one (or more) just because they were able to.

Sold out already??? Maybe they should reconsider the 10 per customer rule. That'll help keep the scalpers at bay

I'm completely mystified by this line.

I was totally thrilled by the 2002 line and the accompanying cartoon. The 4 Horsemen sculpts were fabulous updates to the classic characters. Then kids stopped buying the line and it got cancelled. They made those "staction figures" for a couple of waves and then stopped.

And now, suddenly, they have the money to make a new line? And people are clamoring for them? Did all the other He-Man fans really dislike the 2002 line THAT MUCH? I don't see how sculpts that are basically the 80's versions with more articulation are so much more highly regarded by the fandom than the 2002's sleek, "high-tech fantasy" designs.

If they were making these as 2002 designs would people still be buying them? You guys gotta help me figure this out.

correct me if Im wrong but the main reason Mattel cancelled the 2002 line cause the case ratios were a peice of crap filled with variant Hemans and Skeletors in fruitcake colors. I had issues finding many figures and towards the end of the line I wasnt able to find many of the main characters, all shelfwarmer was variant repaint crap. I never even completed the line. Collectors and kids really had no choice to either buy Ramblow Heman or Craplow Sketelor, causeing this line to fail. And I think the reason Mattel did the very short promotion for the Moss-Man mail away was to move figurs that were shelfwarming

2002 line was fantastic but Mattel is so stupuid they ruined a perfectly good line, probably the best. I mean its not that hard to figure out how to make perfect case ratios, hell a monkey can do it.

and I dont know what happen to the Necas statue line. I only own wave 1 and 2, and never got into it.

I'm not sure why He-Man, Beast-Man & Skeletors listings have that 10 limit. I seemed to remember that He-Man and Beast-Man had a limit of 3 per order. And those 2 figures were online for close to a month+ before they sold out. If people took their time ordering then it's really their own fault. Skeletor took less than a month to sell out which had a limit of 5 I believe. Stratos is where they began selling 10 per order. Perhaps they used the hype on this line at this moment to sell a less popular character, which seemed to work.
