Seriously? The kid wouldn't know what the word "racist" mean, much less know about the concept of racism, and the mother thinks the kid's being racist?

All I can say is... God, that woman is just making a fuss over a simple observation by a mere four year old? Get a life...

I love how people over-react to a simple article. Get a life, indeed.

I should be asking you the same thing. If the mother perceives what her child said to be 'racist', then the first thing that came to mind was "race".

I think the title of the article should be:

"Is this woman as stupid bitch?"

Good point. And why is it "News"? Seriously, it's not a breakthrough in science. It's all gossip shit.

One thing I learned in the military is how to completely not give a shit what race a person is. Race never even figures into anything in today's military, except your pictures.

In a completely colorblind society race will be so unimportant hearing about it in the news, etc. will be a thing of the past. Of course, children will still have eyeballs and will still question, comment, and make kid associations on everything in their world, including why things are certain colors. Woman probably wouldn't bat an eye if her kid said 'all striped cats are mean', even tho the kid is clearly making a judgment about all striped cats. That's just what kids do.

And the only reason why the mother has any concern is because she's a "racist". She herself made this an issue, the kid was just saying something it saw, a simple observation. But the mother made felt it was a precursor to a racist disposition and is actually concerned that her child will grow up and just suddenly cast off an entire race or people and an entire side of herself. It doesn't work that way. Children can observe differences in races and such, anyone can, that's not a bad thing. It's how we treat people because or in spite of these differences that make someone racist or not.

Observing a difference between two groups of people isn't a racists trait, it's an observant trait. For this mother to worry that her kid might grow up to be a racist and actually "identify herself as white and cast aside her black heritage" (direct quote from the article) shows that she's the one with the problem, not the kid.

    ...I lol'd
