I did a similar thread like this earlier about which transformers had the most annoying Transformations. . . Now which ones do you think have the most underwhelming ones? For me, I would have to say ROTF Ravage. It's more or less just pushing his legs upwards : P

Within arms-reach of me? Goldbug. Hell, any of the Throttlebots for that matter. But they are what they are...so I can't knock 'em too much. Movie Scorponok too. Such a crap toy.

Movie #1 Voyager Megatron was not so hot. His legs just folded up with the stupid "ice" covering things. Movie #2 Voyager Megatron as well was a letdown. Pretty much anything in the movie toyline that transformed into a "Cybertronian" whatever turned out to be crap.

In fact, anything in any toyline that transforms into a "Cybertronian" thing gets points off in my book. It just strikes me as cheating in way because the designers have no real standard to adhere too.

For example; Can't think of a creative way to fold the arms in? Just push the hands in and call the arms "guns". Problem solved. Uh-oh! The legs don't really fit well together? Just flip out little panels and call them "wings" Damn... the head and face are showing? Hide them with "ice"!

Energon Cruellock (which is a shame because from what i have heard it was otherwise a great figure)
Of all the ones i own i would have to say DOTM Thunderhead

Blacker, Braver...& Laster I think? The Road Caesar bots. I hadn't touched mine in 10 years and...wow. I shouldn't criticize them too harshly since this time of transformation was pretty common in the late 80s-early 90s, but these guys are rather large and have the same transformation as the most basic of Micromasters. Then they somehow compensate for the simplicity by making it a pain in the ass to jam their brainmaster into either mode.

Road Caesar himself may be a bit goofy looking, but his transformation is at least unusual and interesting among combiners with being made of just 3 figures and having all of his additional parts made of their weapons.

Oh yeah! Just remembered. TFTM Scorponok. Because that isn't a Transformation. It's a nifty little scorpion robot that can stand up and look like an idiot.

Well not all of them suffer this problem. I mean there are Cybertronian modes that pull it off better than others, like DOTM shockwave for instence. It's understanable why you think the designers are being a bit lazy on them but they can't also make them look exactly like earth modes either. The TFP Deluxe Megatron does seem to pull it off much better than the 2007 movie version ever could sp there's still hope.

As for my underwelming transformation? Mine would be Generations Thunderwing. Now I don't own the figure so it may not count, but his transformation scheme seems really lazy. At least the CHUG Seeker mold was able to pull it off better!

Movie 1 Scorpy. He's still a good toy though, mostly because of how well that drill claw gimmick works.

I agree. Some are a lot better then others. DOTM Shockwave is a good figure. I just wish he had transformed in the movie at least once!

Oh, man, I'm really excited about TF; Prime toys :D  They can't come soon enough!
