this is a response to the "worst TF" thread.

Who do you think is the most underrated TF that's actually a really cool toy? Pics would be cool too if you've got them.

For me I'd say it's Energon Sharkticon. I don't know why I find him so cool but he's one of those figures I never hear people mention but I really like.

I really enjoy his ship/shark mode with all the guns and pop out turrents. And I like his robot mode, his head and his color scheme alot. Plus it's a fun transformation.

I'll go with Classics Mirage. He's the best TF ever made.

    Pretty good G1 homage.
    Interesting transformation.
    Off the charts posability.
Nice aesthetic that differentiates it from other Transformers.

And yet, I really don't see it on a lot of favorite lists.

is classics mirage underrated? i love the figure, and i thought a lot of people do too... if thats the case, then mirage will be my vote too, and also universe dropshot...i dunno why, i actually planned on passing on dropshot, but i really love the figure...it looks real badass in robot, and the transformation is pretty cool too..

Energon Prime underrated? IMHO he deserves the bad rep...

My vote goes to THS G1 Convoy.

I like the omnicons from Energon line. For such basic figures, they all had great articulation. My favorite among these is skyblast.

    Both Landmines, Energon and Cybertron.
probably my favorite "new" (i.e. non-homage) character from the AEC trilogy

Energon Landmine had a great look and was one of the few Energon autobots not-hamstrung by the combining gimmick. He looked great as an individual bot and great with his backpack on. (i always thought the club should have used this mold with a new head for Sentinel Prime)

Cybertron Landmine is just well made ~ simple but cool transformation, clearly a new version of the same character, looks great in both modes and has a nice realistic alt mode. Only thing he's missing is clear windows, but they're so small i don't mind them painted. I guess his key gimmick is kind of lame, but it doesn't effect his "playability" like so many of Armada's gimmicks did.

    LOL, really?

Energon Sharkticon I agree with, great mold and I knew a lot who were just turned off by the color scheme and waited on the repaint which never came out... In the same vein, my pick would be Slugslinger. Transformation's pretty complex for an Energon toy but makes a really sleek jet with no underbelly and a wicked robot mode.

I think Armada Tidal wave is elegible here. True, his articulation sucks, but it's better that Armada Overload's and he can technicaly combine with TWO different Megatrons/Galvatrons (Armada, which he can totaly combine with, and Cybertron, where his bot mode arms can plug into the sockets designed for the Nemesis Breaker linkup)

Oh yeah, and I think Alt. Battle Ravage counts, too. All the news I heard bout the figure was that it was a kibblely mold (Alt. Tracks really) with a stupid looking cat head on the body. I personaly think the figure is awesome, the cat head making him unique from tracks, the only problem being the horribly designed door hinges, which are the only reason I don't like TF'ing Battle Ravage that much.

word up, one of my all time favorite Deluxe molds.

And i'm kinda surprised with all the various lines and store exclusives they haven't cycled out redecos of Slugslinger or Sharkticon ~ they would have fit in as movie Decepticons as well as the Wal-Mart ones they did do...

yeah, but i'd say Energon is longer than most ~ the overall crappiness of the main characters + the Autobot combining ginnick i think made a lot of folks overlook all the gems: Slugslinger, Sharkticon, Landmine, Quickstrike, Divebomb and Starscream are all fantastic...
