With there being so many lines, sizes, and prices, sometimes it's hard to decide on figures to buy. In this thread, post your most recommended figures and help guide the rest of us a step closer to a perfect collection.

So i'll start by recommending Classics Sideswipe. It's a discontinued figure obviously, but not all that hard to come by. And if you're just interested in getting a hold of him for the mold, I would recommend one of the other repaints, such as Sunstreaker, or the new Red Alert figure released recently.

Why I recommend him? This figure to me represents his G1 forefather extremely well. It almost defines modern Transformers to me. The transformation is fun, and most notably - reversible - You can simply turn his head around, and adjust his legs, and you have a different looking figure, which is what was used for Classics Sunstreaker if you didn't already know. The figure is tight fitting, and every bit of him is stored away well in vehicle mode.

This thing has attitude! Get one!

ROTF Leader class Optimus Prime and Starscream are definitely some of the best Transformers in recent years. Both are extremely screen-accurate, have fun transformations and look great on shelves.

I'd recommend the Universe Prowl mold. This figure is durable, poseable, well sculpted, and stays fun even when repainted. Easily recommend this.

Yep, as an avid fan of the movieverse toys, these two get my highest ratings and recommendation.

I have Voyagers of both, are they not as good? Wal-Mart has the leaders still last I checked, maybe I should get them.

I seriously recommend Universe Hound. He has awesome engineering, a quick but intriguing transformation, and includes a Ravage toy! I also recommend Animated Blitzwing, one of the best toys from the line, IMO.

    Ebay:
i've had three of the door cups break on that mold, not very durable considering it's the only figure other than rotf brakedown that has broken on me, and it did it three times (two on smokes and once on a prowl, good thing i had replacements for those bots (henkei, and non sticky paint universe)

my recommended: FP ultra magnus and Bruticus, MP grimlock, and megatron

Another great toy is ROTF Stratosphere. He's an extremely underrated toy and needs to be given a chance. He's a Voyager, but can stand as tall as Leader Prime when the wings are flipped up and the legs fully outstretched. He might have big feet but that's what makes him stand out amongst the "feet so small we can't stand" club that is most of the ROTF line. My Mom randomly bought him for me and I almost didn't open him, but I did and was pleasantly surprised. He also feels extremely solid.

I'v seen him around, and considered buying him, and just couldn't talk myself into it, now I sort of want him.

Here's one I'd recommend that shouldn't be TOO HARD to come by: HFTD Voyager Class Optimus Prime. Essentially he's the scaled down version of the ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime.

If you can't afford the price tag on the leader you won't be disappointed with the voyager version. Absolutely great.

By the way, this is a great thread.

Yeah, yeah that's the one I'v got. Love that thing, the case was they were out of Leader Primes when I went to get one, and I ended up picking this one up instead.

Btw, thanks, this thread is great :)

Voyager Animated Optimus Prime- a good sized figure with a fun and unique transformation with a gimmick that works well, plus his faceplate is retractable. Plus he has some playability for younger folks in the form of his squirting cannon.

I'm going to recommend G1 Optimus Prime. Hard to come by, and pricey sometimes, but well worth it. A reissue will do if necessary.
