Dark Side of The Moon - Pink Floyd

The very first album I listened to all the way through, from start to finish, without moving from my seat. When it finished I felt quite sad that it was over, so I replayed it another 3 times.

Quite simply an astounding piece of music.

    pearl jam's ten.

theres a couple'a good rock albums that came out of the 90s, quite a few prolly more technically accomplished, but that particular outing resonated with whatever it was that defined me as a growing adult.

    rargh! angsty angst!

No way can I choose between the two; in 1989, I made a cassette dub with Operation Ivy's Energy on one side and Pixies' Doolittle on the other. Changed everything.

    Beck - Odelay!

This is the first rock and roll album I purchased with my own money. I think that's a large part of why I like the album so much. However, that style of sampling, the strange instrumental stuff and the disjointed pieces-of-cliches-for-lyrics musical style has influenced a lot of the music I make and that I like.

Nope. Just because I can only think of one influential album commonly called 4 doesn't mean you can't.

(I meant Led Zeppelin 4. Or IV. I've heard Zoso. Symbols? The one with Stairway.)

Nirvana Nevermind- my first CD and still one of my favs. Responsible for my Plaid, Doc Martins, long hair stage of life.

NOFX- White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean- Got me away from the Above Plaid, Doc Martins and long hair. Again a great CD from a great Band.

Pearl Jam's 'Ten' got me interested in music.

Now they're just a whiny political band.
