Sorry to gravedig, (well, not really). But better than copying this. I think B.O.B. is pretty iconic (I'm going to save up for a Build Tiger). I will second the Insecticomics mentions, especially Blinky. I want to add Thrust and Dreadmoon to the list. And The Fallen, and Grimlock. "Make honest woman of me Grimlock!" "GO AWAY!" (Don't ask, go read). And the Devourist Priest. And G1 Starscream... Gee, Wayward's got a lot of memorable portrayals doesn't she? (I am NEVER going to be able to disassociate the Insecticons from pudding. Ever. Or pranking, for that matter.) I think that Shadow Dragon's Chibi-Strarf is iconic. And Puppylove's Mirage.
... Whoah, a grave-digger actually apologizin' and giving reason for practicin' necromancy O_O Anyways, if handled right, this can be somethin' as things can more or less change in a year or two.
Holy moley zombie thread. Hmm, interesting how many of these characters still hold a rather high status today, two years after this thread started. But now, I wonder what it will come to look like now that two years have passed.
Getting really desperate in your bid for attention, eh? There's a thread for some sort of unofficial Funnies awards, and there's a section there for iconic characters. Please take your discussion there, instead of necromancing zombie threads.
So many iconic characters in the Funnies, I would have to break it down by the funnies creators and their characters: Shane -- Megabolt DilaZirk -- Mao-Chao, Bob, Devastator, Barricade and Frenzy Coolhand -- Mirage Puppylove -- Mini-Optimus TCracker -- BA Megatron Grimlock_13 -- The Peanut Gallery (Hound, Cliffjumper, Hot Shot) Chaos Incarnate -- Landmine, Strarf Fez Findie -- Creepyplex and Pyro Polencius -- Hot Rod, Strarf That's all I can think of off-hand.
Sorry I'm late in replying to this. I happen to be a fan of the Insecticomics, and this is one of the threads that came up when I searched them. Plus, it covers non-TFW2005 works. And now that Howling mentions it, Dila's Arnval is also good. And Mao, of course. By the way, I think the ability to resurrect years-old conversations is one of the better things about the internet.
- Grimlock 13's Optimus, whose dickness spreads the multiverse and is perfectly willing to throw his own troops at, say, Unicron -again, Grimlock 13's observation team, with Cliffjumper's penchment for mocking the strips stupidity, Hound always playing the Devil's Advocate and Hot Shot's erm, specialness -Nagi-Oki's own collection; Altenator Smokescreen as a psychologist, the warring Robotmaster Starscreams, Ultra Magnus's troubles in getting his armor, Sideswipe dressing as as Spartan soldier
non 2005TFW Characters -Insecticomics's Vector Prime, a cranky time traveler -As Cybertron Turns' Posiedon -As Cybertron Turns' Fred, the most inefectual Decepticon Emperor of Destruction, and his henchmen
I miss Incomplete Skywarp. I still can't believe Them Funny Robots is done. But hey, the flames of the Funnies live on within Shane now and his comics. By the way, the description for the Funnies forum should just say "Home for Shane's Comics other Funnies" now instead of "Home of Them Funny Robots, Fun For Everyone, and The Funny World 2005".
My comic died out years ago. There wasn't anyone that would have been considered iconic...unless you count 20th Anniversary Optimus and Energon Kicker. For a while, I've been considering making a new comic...but the programs I have are primitive at best. I only have MS Paint, Paint Shop Pro 9, and Animation Shop 3. I can't compete with the greats here! They've got Adobe Photoshop and more expensive art programs! Please...teach me, fellow Funnies creators. Teach me how to make comics again, but with better special effects! T_T
You know, there are tutorials in the Funnies section that you can use to learn how to do all of those fancy FX that you see in the comics these days.
