Simple question. Of all the Decepticon leaders in all the different G1 continuities, which was the most successful? Who do you think got the most done?

I'm gonna say Ratbat. After all, it was under his leadership that numerous Autobots were disabled in a battle on the moon. He also mede great strides with plans that would have easily failed under more incompetent leaders (cough*Megatron*cough), such as a giant island spaceship and those hypnotic car washes. Also, unlike other leaders, he looked at all things in an economic sense, and as such was able to conserve a large amount of resources in his schemes.

Feel free to tear my opinion to shreds, and present your own.

Truth be told, neither did I. However, I've read enough of the comics that I think I have a pretty good grasp of how they all performed.

The question was "who WAS..." rather than "who do you think SHOULD HAVE been..."

I voted Shockwave. He accomplished quite a lot in the Marvel continuity, definitely ruled over Megs, and had some killer entrances as well!

Seemed like Shockwave was always in charge of a lot more then anyone else. Megatron had a war party off planet for millions of years. Shockwave ruled Cybertron pretty much with some occasional Autobot uprisings. I bet under Shockwave, the trains on Cybertron ran on time.

Bludgeon, for capitalising on the post-Unicron situation, duping the Autobots and abandoning them on a dying Cybertron, taking the Decepticons to the brink of ultimate victory. When the Autobots eventually get off-world and confront him on Klo, his forces kill an awful lot of them after laying waste to the planet (granted, the Last Autobot resurrected them later).

Even Megatron would later acknowledge that he achieved a lot in a short space of time.

Ooh! I forgot him! I suppose he counts, given that he ordered Blitzwing and Astrotrain around a bit.

Not that they listened, of course.

    Shockwave.

I honestly think he had a Sopranos thing going on, where Megatron thought he was leader, but really Shockwave was pulling the strings behind the scenes and really making all the decisions. The Tony to Megatrons Corado jr.
I bet it was Shockwave who leaked information to the Autobots which led them to leave the planet, then convinced Meg's to follow. Better stop before this becomes a dodgy fan fic.
Even when Shockers failed, he gave us Jetfire.

Of course, depends on which continuity you follow.

Jhiaxus seemed the most on the ball until the end. He kicked the shit out of both Megatron AND Optimus...

Though the fact Optimus had to sacrifice himself.......

    AGAIN

...to save theday takes off some cool points though.

hmm... Gotta go Megs on this one. How many times have we seen him completely take over a planet now? I'm not sure on Ratbat. I need to go read a lot of the old marvel comics.
