Okay, I have several candidates that in my own opinion are disappointing figures when compared to the Animation model/Comic appearances. I suppose I am mostly thinking G1 but I'll take what you got...

My Number one choice: G1 Wheelie. Lovably annoying (okay, lovably may be generous) with an aesthetically proportionate bot mode, and a head that above his shoulders meets toy that, well has a head in his chest.

G1 Ratchet, Ironhide, Megatron- off the top of my head.

You know I thought about Ratchet/Ironhide but there is something I love about them since I discovered they were intended as "exosuits" of sorts for the diaclone drivers. But to play by my own rules in this thread they certainly count.

Beast Machines Silverbolt. Great design on screen, but the toy ended up in the wrong colours, too small against the rest of the cast, and with a bad beast mode.

The robot mode design is pretty good, but the lack of size next to Blackarachnia (who he's meant to be taller than) and the poor beast mode make him the first one that springs to mind.

Animated Starscream. Not one of his figures accurately portrays the awesome animation model. I really wish he had gotten another figure that followed the model.

Beast Wars Dinobot. At least until the rather nice Universe version showed up, then it's all good.
Maybe Beast Wars Black Arachnia, Terrorsaur and Rhinox too. All those had better onscreen versions compared to the toys.

Most of the 1986 movie characters.

Beast Wars Rhinox springs to mind. I know why he looks so different, but seeing his bulky form on the show, and then his skinny toy with way to much armor and that silly face makes me ache a little inside.

BW Rhinox's toy was supposed to look like a Samurai, FWIW. That in mind it looks even MORE differnet.

I always was disappointed G1 Megatron and Ratchet looked so different from their show models. At least their alt modes were good though.

Animated Sentinel Prime. Not too bad from the waist up, but the tiny legs destroy the look. He's so awesome in the cartoon!

    Also, ROTF Leader Megatron.

g1 ratchet, g1 ironhide, and g1 megatron are the most different, but just about all g1 figures are totally innacurate to their cartoon models

Motormaster. Motormaster should be huge and he's just dinky. Even when compared to the rest of the Stunticons.

Where the G1 cartoon was concerned, I was disappointed that the animation models did not match the toys. "What the hell, man. Ironhide and Ratchet aren't supposed to have heads!"

G1 Ironhide/Ratchet. G1 Optimus Prime, mainly bc of its scale-wise compared to other characters.

Reflector gets my vote. Triplets/clones in the cartoon while having three distinct robot forms as a toy? And he is never reissued or updated? Feh!

BM Jetstorm, for the wildly-varying robot mode.
