The invisible coin blocks were great, but my favorite part is when he goes down the pipe to the coin room.  

 

I know it's probably real easy for me to talk since I am not playing but right before the 8 minute mark he had a chance to jump on the top of the level and be home free.

 

I'd bet money they put an invisible coin block there too just so you couldnt

 

Anyone else get a weird sense of "deja vu" watching that?

I feel like I have played that particular Mario game before. IIRC that seems to be the "Mario: Lost Worlds" game released during the SNES days in that "Mario Allstars" game

Either way from what I watched, if I played that now. With my lack of patience I'd have given my system a "People's elbow" and broken it in 2

 

The invisible block placement was great! You could see the paranoia later as he would do a few little test jumps before the great leaps.

 

How are you guys viewing this whole video!? After about 45 seconds, the video stops and a menu in Japanese pops up in its place.

 

I had the same thought.

Then 1-2 would've been easy as well, as the spring would've done the same for you right off the bat in that world too.

Because it doesn't for me.

I can't beat the regular SMB, so there's no way I'd be accomplishing that. After about 40 seconds I'd have quit. Whoever was playing this has both a lot of patience and a lot of will not to give up playing a game that sadistically designed; though I think he gave up too, that's we we didn't get the end of world 1-2. Plus, it could have been worse. Whoever designed this sure gave the player a lot of time, I half expected each world to have just enough time to finish it, and not much more.

*Mario appears and falls into the pit*
"Fuck that!"
*Kicks game system*

 

That was fantastic.

 

....after seeing that IO can help but that is cruel and unsual punishment.

If that evr made the nintendo I would ahve gone my way out of DESTROYING the cartrige.

Lost Worlds was LOADS easier than this, and Lost Worlds was pretty damn hard!

 

This rom is truly for hardcore gamers. After the first death, I would have just smashed the NES and tossed it out the window.

It brought back a lot of frustrated times from my childhood.
