I want UMK3 level Styker please. Everyone took him as a joke (which he is) but I got my 100 ranked wins achievement so easily with him.

while i am excited about the game i have to say the fighters just don't move smoothly, almost robotic in their movements. also the x-ray feature seems kinda stupid imo. something that'll be cool the first time u see it but get old really quick. still early though so i'm sure things will get better.

But mk vs dc had fatalities. It was only the super heroes who had 'brutalities', which were actually more 'fatal' looking than some of the fatalities. The censorship on the fatalities (ie joker and deathstroke) was ******ed, and some of them were pretty lame, but I don't think there have really been any great fatalities since MK2.

I had the same reaction though when I saw the first media for the game, but the strictly 2D nature field and introduction of tag teams really is starting to look more like the more classic mortal kombats. I think they used some of the same character models, but tweaked them for this game though.

 

I'm glad that they're going back to the classic fighting formula, day one buy for me.

 

what i liked about 1-3 was the simple juggle system, the timing isnt insane like on street fighter games, you could easily work out combos just by knowing that you had to get em in the air and keep them there, the later games seemed to reduce emphasis on juggles and went more for ground techniques that seemed less intuitive. Theres still quite a bit of depth to MKII, the corner juggles are suprisingly complex (i think in 3 theres was more push back in corners so less combos???) i think the best addition is the tag team aspect, a bit of a rip off of the capcom stuff but if it works it could be a real asset to the gameplay.

 

any complete list of characters. My fav is always in " Subby " but there seems to be alot to unlock.

Not yet, they're doing a slow reveal at various trade shows just as they did with MK VS DCU.

There were various characters in the backgrounds from the second trilogy (Deception/Deadly Allaince/Armageddon) but Ed has said they are focusing on characters from 1-3.

 

Sonya seems like a given, but I hope they put in Kabal. might make me buy the game.

Stryker is God tier in UMK3. Dumb design but a monster of a character and fun to play as.

Just as an easter egg during the attract screen on UMK3 as well as a tombstone in the Graveyard stage. Trilogy is the cannon of MK3, so its possible. Although I would put Rain far down on th elist of characters that are wanted.

 

I loved Cyrax in MK3

if you hade skill you could kill a character by using short bomb and long bomb and have him blown from one side to the other, a very very hard move but could be made.

 

This one has re-invented the MK series... it's going to be BIG.

 

I have to say Stryker is probably the only character from MK1-UMK3 that I really don't want to see. He always was and always will be lame to me.

I'm hoping Liu Kang, Sonya, and Kitana make it in along with the characters already confirmed. Otherwise I'm good with whoever they pick. I was a bit surprised to see Nightwolf was one of the first to be shown.

 

Holy Crap! I can't wait for this game!

I love the idea of the X-ray breaks, I don't think it will get that old, it looks cool to watch...kinda like I'm watching Deadliest Warrior or fight science, hahaha.

These fatalities for once don't look cartoony. I love it!
