Yeah I loled when I read that earlier. I guess he's doesn't play many games or RPGs. Maybe he's hoping to get the videogame hating moms on his side?

He's never played Mass Effect. hell, I haven't, but I saw the sex, and it's nothing to get excited over.

    XD

Gotta love the BS being spouted. That is NOTHING like Mass Effect.

Mmm, but that would make the scenes more worthy of an M rating......Bioware should take notes for Mass Effect 2. Some more hawt female on Asari action, with 1337 realism and customization.

    Or..or not >_>

I love it when people take bullshit potshots at mediocre, yet popular games.

    What a complete moron...

He's naming Mass Effect but he's talking about Second Life, which isn't on any console and can censor out all such material. He brings it up because there's so many others, like him, that so ignorant about video games he can say whatever he wants about them and get them to take his side. It's the pied piper effect, except in cases like this the rats would have to be retarded.

The problem is some other uninformed reactionaries are going to read that, freak out, e-mail it so some more uninformed reactionaries and so on and so forth.

GotY according to who? I remember oblivion getting GotY, Madden getting GotY a couple times, who decides that crap?

Mass effect is a mediocre game, was lacking in content, but had excellent potential. At least the graphics and audio were nice.

But, maybe if it had all of the crazy 3d hi-def humping and position choosing like the guy in this article claimed, I would have been more interested(actually, it just needed to have less useless levels, and be a little bit more like KOTOR in terms of item management instead of the overly simplistic mechanics it had).

Popular =/= good. It's yet another bland step on the downward slope that started with NWN. Prove me wrong with Dragon Age Bioware, show me that magic you had with the Baldur's Gate series. I will say that it's still better than the shit Bethesda's been shoveling.

And GotY is merely an award for managing to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

So sayeth the bitter and cynical gamer.

Hey, you make it sound as if hundreds of hours roaming the countryside to pick flowers and spend $5 for a new outfit for your horse while following a barely coherent plot to close some demon gateways that demons don't seem to care enough to walk though on their own is a bad thing (morrowind was so much better than oblivion, and I actually preferred icewind dale and planescape torment(best game ever) over baldur's gate).

Torment is indeed a king among kings when it comes to CRPGs. Have you played NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer or The Witcher?

As arguementative as this is going to sound, I know I didn't imagine empty deserted planet after empty deserted planet with a sandworm and some debris, with every "uncharted world" being a barren wasteland(can't have an uncharted jungle? what about an uncharted forest? why can't uncharted places have wildlife? en ecosystem? A cave perhaps?)

Granted it was rare but there are wild animals on a few planets and it might be difficult to drive around in forests and jungles.

Why be required to drive in an uncharted forest or jungle? Seems to me that being on foot would be the best way to explore it, maybe discover some new ruins, old crashed ship hidden in the brush, etc. It seemed like they were trying to go for some "hey look, you can explore stuff!" thing, and failed horribly.

Back to the topic, the guy that wrote that article is a tool.
