The picture is so small that I can't really tell but the simple fact that the picture is so small is shady. It's probably someone's 2nd ebay account. You can see some sticker residue on front where they usually put the Chinese sticker (could be a genuine sticker though). No one should bid on this item without additional pictures.
At the time of grading, AFA didn't have knowledge of the Chinese re-issues. Currently, AFA doesn't make this mistake, and they denote them as Chinese re-issues. Furthermore, AFA will buy these mistakes back from current owners. AFA gets my respect for this!
Here's another Chinese re-issue! 1984 Transformers Ironhide afa 70 misb pre rub - eBay (item 230395853477 end time Nov-07-09 19:08:22 PST)
ah okay well I half rescind my prior post but i still question by whose say so are they "The" experts don't matter that much i suppose as id never have a fig graded
Now if they let a KO or a Chinese re-issue slip through today, I'd agree with you! I don't consider them experts, as I doubt they know more about pre rubs than me, but I do trust AFA over sellers that sell MOSC/MISB items. At least I have piece of mind knowing that the item went through some sort of testing, and the acrylic case helps to protect them.
right there is the other thing i do not like about the AFA as personally feel its a crime to seal away a Transformer in one of those boxes but as i do not collect not for the value but for the unadulterated pleasure of finding the ones i desire and making them mine, I do understand why they do it and the appeal of it to some collectors but i do not like it
What about a collector, such as myself, that has both AFA Transformers as well as loose Transformers?
hey thats fine with me i was just saying some like them AFAed and some don't and some like both ways such as your self. The way i see it there is room enough for TF collectors of all kinds i just wish scumbags would not try to take advantage of less well informed collectors
TRANSFORMERS G1 FRENZY & LASERBEAK AFA 80 LAZERBEAK - eBay (item 130340684241 end time Nov-05-09 17:00:04 PST) Sold for $405! Congrats to the winner! You are a proud owner of a $405 KO Frenzy/Laserbeak!
lol and ouch poor bastard sad thing is the guy may never realize its a KO until he goes to sell it himself if he ever does
In cases like this, I check the seller's feedback after a week or so. Hopefully the sellers used a shill bidding account, and won his own item. Real Talk! I'm surprised nobody here reported the auction to ebay to have it removed.
