For those not familiar with the story go here.

For the record I work at customer service at Toys R Us in St. Louis, MO. Today I was on our TRU Homestore page to read up on current events within the company that concerns me and I came across a current ROTO hold. A ROTO hold is when we stockpile up on a particular item until we have a good amount and sell them on a particular day. Most stores will do this with Nintendo Wii's, technically they have the item, except it's not for sale. The same kind of figure mentioned in the article is the same assortment of figures every TRU store has in their roto hold. The hold started yesterday and will be held until Tuesday, May 1st which when they will be out on the shelves. If any proof is needed to persuade anyone I will try to see what I can do.

The thing is, Hasbro has repeatedly said that the regular assortment of deluxe figures (which includes Bonecrusher and others) has a street date of JUNE 2.

The May 1st date would be for the two preview figures

    Unless Hasbro changed plans

How about Real Gears? Any info on those?

Or a restocking of TRU Soundwave?

yeah not excatly sure cause the item matched up with the one on the reciept in the picture.

No clue, the status on Soundwave is A which means we still carry the item and will possibly be getting more in. We just don't know when. I check the warehouses everyday but no one has any pending.

Lols...(then wonders if that's why he can't find Alt. Ravage/Rumble) :sly:

I've never heard of release dates for movie toys being moved up before...but the pegs are getting pretty bare at the major retailers in my area (Target/Wal-Mart/TRU). It's hard to believe that it's gonna be like this for another six weeks. I'm down to pretty much classics and the oddball 3-inch titty.

    Ebay:
Walmart @ Scarborough Town Centre has a shelf full of the new preview toys (Optimus & Starscream protoforms) - each box has a sticker that says "Includes Bonus Poster!"

They must have just stocked the shelf today because it was full (not one missing spot) as of 7:45pm today.

I think May 1st is the actual movie toys since the previews are out in retail.

I think it would be cool if they were out more than 2 months before the movie. Hooray!

I don't doubt it. Why would TRU's in Ohio have them already? Spiderman and Superman came out 2 months before the movie, why not TFs?

Hasbro stated at Botcon and other times the preview figures were supposed to be out in May, with the full line starting in June.

if some random TRU or Walmart gets them in and can't follow instructions on street date and just stocks them that day, its not because the whole line has been moved up.

Keep in mind Hasbro also has the Spiderman Line and the deal they have with retailers to flood shelves with Spiderman 3 stuff rolls over to Transformers later so as Spiderman stuff sells, shelf space is freed up for Transformers.

It'd be cool if they were out earlier than expected. I wonder, maybe the June 2nd release date is when all the toys come out. For example, the main figures are coming out now but the other things like the Voice Changer Helmet and the Battle Rig Blasters won't be out until June 2nd.

If they're really coming out this much earlier, it kind of makes me wish I hadn't spent so much money getting them off eBay already...

You could always give them a call first. :)

Although you may just get shafted. My friend called over there one time and he asked if they got the movie figures in yet and the guy that answered said 'no mamm' and hung-up. Bastard. :lol
