I keep getting teased with all these new Minicon pics, I wish they'd just come out already!! 

 

They should have called Fireflitht Powerglide.

Powerglide was the original name for the mold. But there were some rights issues.
I agree Powerglide fits the mold better.

 

Boy.. they sure are getting lazy with their minicon designs. I mean the sheer lack of articulation on a couple of those is mind boggling. I look at some of the minicons past and I see these little guys chalked full of detail and then I look at these newer ones.. well it's almost like a step backwards.

 

Firebot looks great IMO, but the other 2 have issues. The helicopter's legs are too spindly and his arms don't appear to be able to fold forward. The Police car in robot form looks bowlegged to me.

Will I still buy them? Heck yeah. Will I buy the enevitable repaints? Yup.

 

I'll buy them because they're minicons- though I'm not a huge fan of that awkward looking helicoper. And more LOCs are welcome, too.

I'll pass on those LOC repaints but those Minicons - as aweful looknig as they are - will be a wecomed addition! I'm a sucker for those lil' guys  

 

yeah, ive actually been looking foward more towards the HOC and minicon sized figures of classics.

 

They all look weird. The new molds are crappy as hell except one and the redecos don't work at all.

 

Didn't Aaron Archer say at Botcon that they wouldn't be able to use the name "Fireflight"?

Has it been revealed what the oficial name for that figure will be?

I would agree with you that the minicons are pretty crappy (except for Firebot, he's all right).... but I've never really liked minicons anyway. I'm actually diggin' the LOC redecos, though! I'm actually glad the plane is Fireflight and not Powerglide.... Powerglide will always be an A-10, and if they can't do him as that, I'd rather they not do him at all.

Still peculiar to me that they went with "Leo Prime" for that Leobreaker mold, rather than a host of more G1 possibilities: Razorclaw, Rampage, Predaking, Steeljaw, Catilla..... hell, even Ravage. Odd choice.

 

I'll definitely be getting the minicons even if they aren't the best ones ever released...and I'll definitely be skipping the 'Legends'

Hasbro just used "Fireflight" for one of the KB exclusive Micromaster Aerialbots. They released a Universe toy named "Fireflight" two years ago. Why would the name suddenly cause problems now?

Kyde designed his color layout with Powerglide in mind, Hasbro couldn't get the name, so they decided to name him "Fireflight" instead. We already saw the packaging, and it said "Fireflight".

 

Don't know. You tell me!  

I guess I got confused then on what name was the one Hasbro couldn't use.

We saw the packaging BEFORE Botcon 2006.

Oh the only minicons I Like so far are the Dinos. And the LOC repaints...pass...they already repainted some of them as cybertron figures LOL...THey are not that cool to buy multiple multiple times.
