But at the end you didn't see BB from the front as the camera panned over him so really they can explain it any way they want. The real reason for the differences is that they aren't using a million dollar Saleen prop this time around, it's a close to production car and GM made those changes to the camaro. My guess anyway.

 

I agree. Even though the new Camaro isn't even in dealerships yet, we already have a preview of what the "new" new front fascia will look like.

Not digging BB's new mods at all. Grrrrr.  

Rims are hideous. They removed his bottom lip!? WTF? And what are those gaping square holes for!? I know it sounds like a lot of complaining, but they should've left a good thing alone.

I think BB looks pretty rad. Stoked to see what everyone else looks like.

 

BB Repaired - Ratchet. Medical officer (mechanic, if you will). That's why Bumblebee was in one piece.

BB Changed - Product marketing. New toys. New cars. 'Nuff said.

 

Considering these things can scan & reformat into anything they want within a millisecond, Bumblebee's mods will likely be chalked up to nothing more than doing a slight re-scan whilst driving down the highway or something. Though I doubt they'll even address it all since the differences are so subtle.

Or maybe he just got drunk one night, accidentially rear-ended Prime and needed a quick fix somewhere between movies  

 

I love the concept camaro as it was, It looked perfect to me. But this looks closer to the production version, I might have to get used to the new look. The rims are amazing though.

 

I've got connections in car chasing circles and this new front end is news to them, most prototypes have been VERY close to production and NONE have been spotted with anything like this.

As for real world applications they look like cooling ducts for the brakes which is very common on high performance cars.

So the million dollar question is:

1.) is this some mod Bay/Hasbro made up to sell "new" BumbleBee toys
2.) is this the 'accidental' breaking cover of some sort of performance package for the 2010 Camaro? An SS or Z28?

It looks like they just modified the prop car/s, because the pre-production models driving around the US and Australia have slightly different body proportions from the concept, and those vents in front of the rear wheel arches are simply molded on for decoration. The ones there actually have holes, just like the concept.

Also, the production design, for safety and structural integrity, will have window frames for the doors. This car looks like the usual concept-style frameless windows.

Saleen plate? I don't see any?

I thought Saleen normally only tune Ford cars as well as their own?

I don't see any reason to bother to explain the change for BB's slightly different look. It's not like he's a completely different alt mode. I think by now everyone knows what to expect from a Michael Bay TF film. Logic and story weren't exactly strong points in the first movie. So long as it has more giant robots with more giant robot fighting than the first, I'll be happy.
