I'm buying them on the principle that I think their hands are 3mm clip system compatible. They might only be packed in with the building sets though, rather than individual. Sentinel Prime has a great retro look going. Sunfaded chest and musty orange. More G1 minifigs. Something to fill the hole left in robot heroes cancellation. Looking at the gallery these seem to come with a cliffjumper set and a ratchet set. Also ratchet has a yellow medical stretcher for other kreons. Fantastic.
IF I have money when some come out AND some sets are complex enough/ have high piece counts, I might get one to check out... I collected complex Lego sets. I don't care for the simple/ low piece count ones. Though, the G1 figures look decent, for Lego-esk minis. & some of those pieces are identical to Lego pieces, so it isn't that there are differences for legality. I have to assume that the person who posted that Lego's copyright has expired may be right.
Are all of you guys serious? My first big "Lego" set when I was five was actually a "not-Lego" set. Haven't you seen all that high-profile Mega Bloks Halo stuff on shelves? "Ripping off Lego" is the opposite of news. Anyway, this line's not for me but it's kind of cute. Weird how the figs and the sets are essentially homaging wildly different TF aesthetics.
Rip offs or not Lego is still the best in their catagory of toy and the new hasbro stuff still lakes in quality of modles ie the way things are build. If Hasbro wants to do the block thing then they sould just suck it up and partner up with lego.
Here's how I see these: If it looks like Lego , I don't care who makes it, just as long it has good quality.
Actually Lego tried to sue Mega blocks on those grounds. Got thrown out every time. You see Lego's patents on the interlocking brick system expired years ago. Any company could produce a Lego like brick system and be free and clear legally.
The red one had an Autobot symbol. Wasn't the Ferrari confirmed, or at least said, to be a Decepticon?
Holy crap, I'd totally love a "not-LEGO" Soundwave. And a "G1" Sentinel Prime also interests me, since there is no "actual" G1 Sentinel Prime in most continuities.
According to the TF Wiki: Optimus Prime (568 pieces) w/ Optimus Prime, Skywarp, Bluestreak, and two human motorcycle driver Kre-ons Megatron (308 pieces) w/ Megatron, Shockwave, and two human Kre-ons Sentinel Prime (381 pieces) w/ Soundwave, Thundercracker, Sentinel Prime, and driver Kre-ons Sideswipe w/ Ironhide and human Kre-ons Prowl w/ Prowl and human Kre-ons Starscream w/ Starscream and pilot Kre-ons Ratchet (197 pieces) w/ Ratchet and driver Kre-ons Mirage (119 pieces) w/ Mirage and driver Kre-ons Jazz (119 pieces) w/ Jazz and driver Kre-on Smaller Optimus Prime (90 pieces) Smaller Bumblebee (74 pieces) (I assume whoever added those entries forgot to put in the first larger Bumblebee entry, as a "smaller" Bumblebee would indicate there's a larger one.)
At some point, it WAS posted on the Front page (may not be this particular thread), so it wasn't "never" said. This is why I included "or at least said" in my post. Even if it was an error, it was still said. It could be misinformation, or Bay reversing himself as misinformation.
I'm probably gonna be picking up a lot of these sets! They look awesome! And they'd be great things to pick up and build if there's ever a time when you don't want to buy any of the figures out at the time. Can't wait for these!
