Okay, since I also collect Lego, I was sort of opposed to Kre-o on purist principles.... but come on! Ratchet? Thundercracker? I'm not made of stone!

Guess I'll be picking these up after all. Adorable.

"G1" Sentinel Prime, based on DOTM Sentinel Prime. Confirmed by Walky who saw him at ToyFair.

That would be the first DOTM Mini Figure then, since all we have seen so far is the sets themselves are movie-verse, but the minis are G1 oriented, right?

I don't understand why they're putting G1 heads on Movie bodies. Looks silly.

In what way do Ratchet, Soundwave, or Thundercracker's bodies look like movie bodies? Even Sentinel doesn't...

I love that Sentinel is keeping the tick like characteristics.

Ratchet might be a buy for me but we'll have to see how well they come out

And? from what I've seen they look pretty cool, they must have made it different enough from Lego is some manner in order to get away with not being sued for infringement of copyright.

    Must have tiny Ratchet.

    Must.

    Of what, Lego?

Tell that to the countless other toy building block lines out there.

I've still got that sour taste in my mouth from BTR, but if these things aren't Lego-expensive, I'd definitely pick a few up. I need that Thundercracker...

Because Lego is a competitor to Hasbro (they once said Transformers and Lego were usually the last toys boys played with before abandoning toys completely), so Hasbro doesn't want to license its brands to Lego.

I believe there's also evidence that Lego actually stole the concept for interlocking bricks from a British inventor.

Am I the only one who thinks that looks like Blaster between SW and TC?

Sentinel turns into a firetruck, no? And Prime in his movie truck? And Bumblebee certainly doesn't turn into a Beetle.

According to my local newspaper's coverage on Hasbro @ Toyfair, there will be 12 different Kre-O sets available to buy when the line launches in stores, with the line possibly incorporating other Hasbro brands like G.I. Joe.

    So far we know of:

    Optimus Prime
    Starscream
    Bumblebee
    Sentinel Prime
    Ratchet

lego's patent for the brick/stud design had expired, so Hasbro and any other companies don't even have to make the blocks different to stay legal as long as they don't use actual lego brand/logo and i guess blueprint/design for the resulting toys.
