who cares if they are KO's so long as he mentions it. Im a huge KO fan and if anything we need ebay to stop being arseholes and LET KO's be sold on ebay again. The real dumb thing is its ok to sell KO's of OTHER THINGS on ebay...just not transformers? wtf?

It's illegal and intellectual property theft either way.

And IIRC eBay are making inroads into removing all counterfeits, since they were forced to pay $30million (if memory serves) to a bunch of fashion houses a few months back.

No, ALL Bootlegs/KOs/Counterfeits are not allowed on eBay, Replica, Counterfeit Items and Unauthorized Copies

However, unless things have changed in the last few months with eBay's sweeping changes, eBay barely enforces their own rule unless the IP owner joins the VERO program, allowing said IP owner to take a first hand in identifying & removing Bootleg auctions. Starting around February, either Hasbro stepped in, or eBay has began strongly enforcing their own policy in response to a lawsuit at the time by some IP owner over Bootleg products being sold on eBay.

The seller doesn't say that they are kos. The seller actually lies by saying that they are originals made in 1984 & that he's had them for years.

It's not ok to sell kos on ebay.

Well this is the conclusion of the eBay ban. Bad sellers who will take advantage off of new and unexperienced collectors since they don't know KO's has been made in the past. Good for Hasbro, bad for the community.

Interesting to note that on this KO the punch-hole is off-center like the originals.

    What's the debate?

This isn't just about selling KOs in general it is a very explicit case of selling KOs as vintage.

The seller is obviously trying to sell them as vintage.
