Just thought I'd point out that it's a slot car race track, not a train set.

    Sounds quite nifty though.

You know, I knew that since I posted the original story up there as well...Wow what a brain fart. Don't know how "train set" got stuck in my head and I typed that up there so many times. :lolol

Thanks for pointing that out to me though! :D

Damn! That title got me all excited. A Transformers trainset would have been the marriage of two of my three favorite things from my childhood. The third would be Legos, but we all know how BTR turned out...

Was really hoping for an electric, HO or O scale Rail Racer set... Or maybe a G scale Astrotrain! Perhaps MP-06 would not be a Seeker repaint after all.

Sorry sorry for the confusion all! Every reference should be fixed!

For some reason I had "train set" on the mind every time I was going to type "slot car".

    I blame sleep deprivation

Hornby is a company that produces train sets, so it's an easy mistake to make especially as it was shown on their stand.

Incidentally, there was a small bit in the business pages of Metro today that said Hornby made something like 9 million in profit last year.

I had a slot car set once, the cars would jump off at max speed. I thought it was funny, but then, I was a little kid.

Nitpicking, I know, but 'twas I who posted the original story last week:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=121353

And to Mad Dawg--there *was* a TF train set released in the 80's. See the thread linked above.

That's funny, when I posted this news a couple of days ago over at OTCA, I also mentioned then that a technic Lego set for movie characters would have made the ultimate joygasm upon this slot car set news to me. :)

How cool would that be? A proper technic set with all its complexities and gears and stuff. Even cooler would be an auto transform set using the latest electric motor.
