SuperHeroHype.com’s confirming—well, sort of—that the IMAX version of Transformers won’t be just two minutes longer, but a whopping 5 minutes longer!:wow:

My prediction: The next source will say 3 minutes longer, followed by another source citing 10 minutes. In reality, there will be 6 minutes of previously unseen Anthony Anderson material and an extended cut of the "Sam's special time" scene.

I'm not holding my breath on 5 minutes extra footage. Unless Nelson asks Bay and then Nelson confirms it.

I wouldn't care if there was extra footage or not, I'm stoked as hell about an IMAX version.

Maybe the scene between Megatron and Starscream will be longer, and we find out why Megs is calling Screamer a failure.

    5 minutes? Cool!

And I thought the "Sam's happy time" line was funny.

SO TRUE! I've seen the movie twice and to be honest both times I can't remember him using the "GIANT KILLER ROBOT" (or something like that) line. The extra five minutes will probably be the usual cut scenes fair (ie plot development cut for big budget death! <<--- not that Id have it any other way!)

Just my speculation from reading the novel adaptation/ watching the behind the scenes HBO special. The scene where the fat nerd helps the codebreaker woman get all green lights through traffic will be of those scenes.

The HBO special showed a bit of this being filmed but It was'nt in the original cut.
    Hence maybe the imax version.

Do you guys think that this willmake it to the DVD. I didn't notice in the list of DVD features the typical "85 minutes of deleted scenes" so it would suckif the Imax version had some killer new scenes that do not make it on the DVD.

Anything extra is just gravy over the IMAX format anyway...
Tho' I wonder how many of us will really recognize it as extra footage... I saw the movie twice and the last time was over 2 months ago...
