Kind of what I'm thinking, but in less passionate terms.

I see them less as gesaults, and more like power-up armour in the form of drone vehicles.

    Not bad.

Argh, the limbs are non-transforming drones???

That might kill most of the appeal for me. I guess I'll wait and see...

These look like so much mix-n-match fun.

Also, combined form looks to be about Voyager size - good to know.

Also interesting to note that Smolder's 'individual' head looks kinda like Inferno, and 'combined' head looks kinda like Hot Spot. I smell an Autobot repaint! :)

I was a little upset to learn that the limbs don't have individual robot modes at first but now I really couldn't care less. The automatic transformation looks awesome and they look pretty good as limbs as well. I can't wait to get these.

They look like they're very very very fun to fiddle with. I'm digging them, almost in a Gravity Bots way but these are far more attractive and appropriately priced.

These are getting easier to pass on the more I see, they are too small, screw drone limbs ala powermode prime from energon, and just really weak looking

Appreciated the effort to get these pictures posted early...

so what's hot and what's not...
Hot: I think these are good for kids who really "play" the toys like bang bang bang bang...these power core combiners do look like to be super simple to transform like pulling the shoulders, flipping down the arms, flipping the legs 180 degree. and that is that starscream. those ugly plugs connected to the limbs and these limbs are actually working well in term of articulation; but they just can't be transformed into individual robots.

what 's Not? again.. the limbs that transformed from a vehicle to either an arm or a leg just don't satisfy us , we those who set the standard at least on G1 constructicons that each of the vehicle should also transform into an individual robot.

Now... being realistic... that vehicle mode in starscream is what? 4" long ? so it is indeed a scout instead of deluxe size... so how much 'd that be ? $10 or lower ? (if $10 or over; I PASSed), then the rest of those 4 limbs... a package of all for another $10 ? ($10 maybe doable, anything pricier .. shoot straight to the shelfwarming candidates...

Good Luck Hasbro. but I bet the R&D for these kind of stuff... dirt cheap, any junior designers can probably make that happened.... oh well... (sorry if i being too mean)

but my point is... if Hasbro continues to experience these kind of toys for the Transformers; I hope they do twice or more R&D for something like the Fansproject has done ...

Then comparing to the Energon timeframe those combiners (like superion /bruticus), these Power core combiners do look like going backward ... its a shame HASBRO releasing these and is a shame if they think they can just sell anything with a badge of transformers if they thought the movies lines have done so well...

I might,MIGHT pick up bruticus on sale, but his strange legs and seemingly lack of articulation worry me.

Though I will get huffer,I must say that smolder lookslike crap now.
