Saw the board and box weeks ago, but the minifigure sculpts seem new. ...and kinda ugly, but they don't look to be final versions just yet.
All the ToysRus stores have him. It's Mecha-Godzilla and Final Wars Gigan that are hard to find. Hmm...neat, but I'd rather spend my money on other Godzilla merch. All 4 game pieces are sculpted after their Final Wars versions.
Come to think of it, Jakks Pacific took up Trendmasters' IP assets when they closed. Now they're making Godzilla figures... ...draw your own conclusions. But really, I'm not expecting anything like the ol' TM toys. Still, that's kinda interesting given that context. I'm looking forward to the new stuff. I have the X-Plus Gamera '99 from about ten years ago, and it's a damn good figure. If that kinda figure is where they were back then, I'm guessing they've only gotten better.
Just thinking about the TM 1998 Godzilla line. Really makes me want a figure of Bryan Cranston's character, give him a confused "what the Hell am I doing?" face sculpt with crossed eyes and throw in a ridiculous rocket launcher or a mech suit to fight Godzilla in. Or a jetpack with big dumb robot grappling arms.

Jakks Pacific has only one confirmed Godzilla 2014 product, and that's a 31" vinyl figure in the same style of their other giant vinyls of dudes from movies and hot properties. It's Bandai America who has the primary toy license, while NECA's current position is a little more nebulous. At first they were only talking about an 18" figure of the movie design, but then they hinted at something in their 7" scale and even classic Godzilla designs... it's odd.
Oh...I didn't expect Neca to be given any licence for any Goji stuff...its really an unexpected piece of news for me.
Pretty much: -Inside sources (Staff at Tohokingdom who are working with various licensees) say Jakks is also working on a 31" Muto. -Neca is doing Godzilla 2014 & Godzilla classic figures. At Toyfair they will reveal the sizes of these new lines. We may see prototypes from the classics line. No Godzilla 2014 merchandise will be revealed at Toyfair since the WB/Legendary embargo doesn't lift until Late March. -Neca is also doing a Godzilla Puzzle game similar to what they did for Pacific Rim. -Sideshow will be doing statues for the movie. -Bandai/Tamiishi Nations is working on a S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla 2014 figure. -There will be a Heroclix line for the Godzilla 2014. -Various clothes & other collectibles will be announced soon. -Sideshow is sculpting classic banks for Diamond Distribution. There is more i'm probably forgetting...
The only one I recall you haven't covered is NECA being stated very early on to be working on non-toy merchandise, along the lines of their hats or armbands.
A10 has the X-plus 2003 Godzilla, and the 64 Mothra larva. They are out of Florida and are a good store. Toho Godzilla Vinyl Figure 2003 12 Inch Version
If they ever release the 'non scar' version and the head isn't lifted so high...I will probably be getting my first X-plus Goji!
These are diamond comic distributors re-issues of the X-plus 30cm, so that would be a re-issue of a new mold I guess.
