It's like Geoff Senior stopped drawing Transformers yesterday and began again today. Unlike Andy Wildman's recent work (which I found virtually unrecognisable & rather generic), these are like panels from the old UK comic (which is intended as a compliment!)

I'm assuming you only looked at the first page, merely a sketch page.

Actualy I always found his art quite distracting in the old comics.

For those who collected the US comics like I did, here's a copypaste from seibertron.com on what comics Geoff did

The Transformers #61 - "Primal Scream"
The Transformers #62 - "Matrix Quest (Pt 1): Bird of Prey!"
The Transformers #65 - "Matrix Quest (Pt 4): Dark Creation"
The Transformers #66 - "Matrix Quest (Pt 5): All Fall Down"
The Transformers #75 - "On The Edge Of Extinction!"

He also did a TON of the UK comics.

SO much energy in Geoff's art, makes it come alive! Are these comics just going to be black and white or will we see some added colour later on?

Word. I dig retro and simplified styles but I still don't see any style in this, just bad. I guess I just had to have "been there" so many years ago.

I don't like the actual designs and generic looking guns either :(

He was my favourite artist in the old comics... many of my fellow HUngarian fans complained why didn't Andy Wildman draw the Unicron battle story (On the edge of extinction) but I think it was Senior's art that made that so memorable. Dark, sharp, very emotional. Among the new guys, Guido Guidi's style looks like Senior's a bit.

I was surprised they managed to get him back drawing comics - I heard he left the comic industry and went to drawing advertisements.

Btw, I wonder if that's Brawl's cybertronian form?

He is a great artist. Its a unique style ideally suited for TF comics. He's also really good at drawing "alien" landscapes and settings. I think though his work is really made special by a the colourist. The heavy blacks he uses really need special lighting. I loved the matrix quest which introduced me to his art, and many images he drew are still burned into my mind.

Seems this is only available to subcribers in the UK, so presumably also at UK retail, unless someone can import it for you.

    WOW, that is nice.
I would like to see YOUR TF art published by Hasbro before the year 2010.

Its wierd seeing it not be the G1 guys with Senior's style, while it looked fantastic for them, the new movie guys just have too much detail to be drawn like this.

Saying that, I am subscribing, and I know I'll love the comics, they will grow on me, not might, will.
