Yeah thats a real tragic story. Plus, we don't even know for certain if it was cake. Who knows, it could have been over some crappy brown apple betty...but God knows I wouldn't kill over brown apple betty.

WTF, man?! How the hell did that line get into the article? Talk about "beside the point"!

    Also weird is:
Unlike the other cake story, there's absolutely nothing funny here.

Tragic, but what the hell is wrong with these parents raising these monster children?

    Remember kids, violence solves everything.

Also, kids are not at all impressionable. From the age of two they should be able to watch any R rated action slice and dice film they want to. Always remember that it's more important to be your kids friend than to be their parent.

Wow the logic here is amazing. Little brother, you ate a dessert that I don't want to get blamed for. To cover my tracks, I will kill you, because obviously, that is far better than having mom think I ate a Little Debbie when I wasn't allowed.

WHY CAN'T WE ALL BE SO LEVEL HEADED?

BTW llamatron, I watched R rated flicks when I was a wee 'Tulu and I turned out...relatively ok

Depends on the kid, but I really am not much of an expert on the subject. My guess would be that some kids will probably subconsciously pick up crazy shit and go nuts while most will probably be a-ok. Also lol @ wee 'Tulu.

DAMN STRAIGHT!! I see kids a third or fourth of my age playing Halo, or watching movies NOT meant for them. Keeps them from bothering Mom or Dad, that is all that matters anymore.

Haha, you have a point Tunda, I'm sure it's not universally true but that thinking definitely exists for some parents. I remember my dad bragged about the NES as "the best babysitter" to another family member when my cousin got one a year or two after I did. I'm sure plenty of ma's and pa's feel the same about the current gen consoles, happy to leave their 8 year olds alone with GTA and such. I'm pretty against the whole "movies and games make kids baaad" argument though, I think with the right guidance from their parents, kids can take in all that shit and not be phased by it. I think it depends more on how they're raised rather than the media they're taking in directly.

I'm the middle of 3 boys, and I grew up out in the sticks, and I can tell you that we regularly beat the crap outta each other, but how can you not know that beating someone with a metal pole, broomstick or pounding a head on the floor to not be wrong? Throw a couple a punches and get a headlock noogie, and call it a day...oh sorry I killed ya there.

I don't believe the older sibling had an intention to kill his brother though. Beat him up, yes, kill him, no.

I think he should remain tried as a juvenile and the charges should reflect unintentional manslaughter.
