Well a few other people showed their work which finally got me focused on doing some more of these guys. I decided to turn my first attempt at classic AMC in to he Shattered Glass version as so much of it was already done Left to right Animated AMTC WIP, Classic AMTC, AMTC, Shattered Glass AMTC WIP, Movie AMTC WIP
I hope you plan to shoot a whole gallery for EACH one of those. They deserve it, and should get submitted to the gallery.
Thanks. Theres a long way to go to get them all done. Particularly movie TC, but when I'm done I get some decent shots done. I'm particularly fond of classic TC alongside the other classic Seekers. I'm starting to get annoyed with the decision to use the same green across all the figures. It's very nice but it means using an airbrush and it keeps coming out speckled. The end result is kinda looks weathered which being the hands and feet actually make sense but its so much hassle.
I love you. I've been looking for an AM TCracker custom for ages. Think you could try a Masterpiece one? I would love to buy some of those when you're done.
Check out the kind of entries Takara received from their Microns promotional where the kids colored the toys. If you look at a lot of children's pictures you'll see bright contrasting colors. Kids love that kind of shit. Transformers were always aimed at a younger demograph; regardless if I'm 25 and I still buy them. Younger children would be attracted to the garishly colored Thunder Clash or Thundercracker because it stands out. It's actually quite smart - tho it results in what we see as an ugly figure. Generation-2 was sadly made with this sales pitch in mind for the most part. ~Z
I would love to do a masterpiece Thundercracker sadly I cant afford a second walmart Starscream. If I could have gotten a second at retail I would be working on it now. One day though. I do however have WST ready to go. These one's aren't for sale but if we can work out a price I'd be happy to make more. I find painting jets pink way too much fun.
your movie one looks like a similar japanese version which came with the DVD but still looks good, they all do. Except animated but to all there own.
Argh!!!! My threads come back from the dead Thanks. Erm, no idea to be honest I know a few have been made and sold but never seen one on ebay. I was offered quite a bit at Botcon 07 for that one. Yeah that would be a good idea wouldn't it. Thats because it is the Japanese one. I bought it because it seemed perfect for TC. I got green painted parts from a regular Thundercracker that I need to swap out and then work out how to get purple parts to fit. I just found these again a few days a go and realised I needed to finish them off. Might do it this week.
