Today I was at Kmart looking for '08 Bee (it doesnt hurt to look when they're next to Walmart) and I found a plastic baggie of quarters in the Star wars section (next to transformers). It looks to have between $5 and 6 worth of quarters in it. I took the bag with me because I'd rather not leave it with someone that only makes $6 an hour working the Customer Service desk.

My question is: What should I do with the money? Charity? Go to Kmart and give it to someone that makes $6 an hour? Keep it? With how deserted Kmart is, the bag could have been there for a while already... Any and all input is appreciated.

Was there anyone else around when you found it? I see it as kind of like finding a dollar on the ground, I found a dollar on the ground at a gas station a few weeks ago and bought a lottery ticket with it.

Unfortunately I didn't win shit, would have made for a much better story if I had.

Lost and Found in the store FTW.

Because one makes $X an hour does not make them dishonest.

Probably some little kid's pocket change.

Drop it off at the charity jar that the customer service areas have. You'll never get the kid his own money back, but it's the best way to get the money to still benefit someone.

If its only 5 or 6 bucks then no real sense in worrying about it. Doesn't make you the devil if you keep a couple of bucks that you found.

I would turn it in to customer service. It was probably a little kid's money or something. And I agree with Drippy's sentiment that just because someone makes $6 an hour doesn't mean they'd be dishonest.

first off, Morals have gone out the window since the 80's, second, if there is no contact info these quarters might belong to, then use as you please

If you do feel bad, put it in a charity jar as Jux said. If you need it though, it's not the worst thing in the world to keep it

I agree that this was probably some little kid's bag of money. You don't have to drop it off at customer service, but you could call them to see if anyone has tried to claim a bag of quarters, you may be able to get some info out of them to give the money back to the kid.

What happened in the 80s to suddenly cause all morals to "go out the window?"
