First step in plan for global conquest.
People are so over-cautious this day and age.
No, it really bloody is. ATHF just went up a notch in my estimation, that was genius.
It's a promo for the ATHF movie. The board light up with the mooninite figures. I find it really hard to believe that they intended anyone to mistake them for bombs or anthrax.
Actually I think this is the key part of the article:
"They have been in place for two to three weeks in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Austin, San Francisco and Philadelphia. Parent company Turner Broadcasting is in contact with local and federal enforcement on the exact locations of the billboards. We regret that they mistakenly thought to pose any danger."
If this was an intentional hoax, don't you think one of those other cities would have responded the same way before now?
Are you friggin kidding me?
"Oh noes! Mooninites! Wez gunna die!!"
I hope you can believe this, because I am bullshitting as hard as I ever ahve before...
The best thing, I think, is that it's the Mooninites. It wasn't Master Shake or Eric Cartman or Fred Flintstone. Of all the cartoon characters that have ever existed, I can't think of any who would be more likley to do something like this.
As one who has been monitoring the story all day long, I don't find it funny in the least. Nor would I expect many Bostonites to as well.
Those cops are morons. You would think after finding two or three, they would check them out and do some research, and realize they were harmless advertising. I guess there aren't any ATHF fans on the force.
Instead, they waste time and money pulling them all down and create panic conditions. Way to defend the peace!
over reaction ftw!!!
Given that the liquefied natural gas tanks in Boston have shown up in a few terror alerts over the past couple of years, the response to the hoax by the city is not surprising.
Drippy is correct, many of us do not find this funny.
So now flashing lights = terrorism? The man is gonna come down on you, Las Vegas.
So how is this a hoax? What were they imitating? Bombs? Since when are bomb hanged from above the street. It might be different if they made a ticking noise and had a guy in a trenchcoat drop them off in a duffel bag. Boston PD, you are now the dumbest police force in the world.
Man, leave it to the Mooninites to succeed on their first attempt within the real world.
Sounds like they should have picked a town with an actual sense of humor....
Effing awesome. I hope they were "lighting up while commiting hoaxes"
Chalk me up with those who think it's HILARIOUS! "Some would call Earth our moon, but that would belittle the name of our moon, which is: THE MOON" You would think after they pulled one down they would check it out and do a little research.
I agree with governor Patrick, this is NOT funny.
it's downright sad that some people find it funny. very sad.
Separate names with a comma.
