What is a reasonable price for a Complete Monstructor? I hardly ever see him sold on the board and ebay only has a couple with huge price differences. Thanks guys..

I ended up piecing mine together, but he's expensive to do that way. with all the little tiny parts and non broken bristleback you're looking at passing 200$ easily (the head alone cost me 30$ in trade)

$300 to $400 if he is complete and the 2 inner gold bots are not broken

Monstructor is one of those funny niche toys. A lof G1 collectors wouldn't be bothered with it, but it's still rare, and flimsy. So when a good example comes up, it can get pricey, or even not shift at all.

Last i remember, it wasn't unusual to pay $300 or so for one.

I would imagine that those who are after one are in the hardcore category of collector, and would be willing to pay quite a bit more if cardbacks/techspecs are included.

Got a complete one in fantastic shape and super stickers on ebay for $235 shipped about 6-8 months ago.

This was before I learned about GPS and when I got him I was transforming them just like any other transformer and everything went well. I guess because they were in great, cared for shape the Gold Plastic didn't crumble on me. I later read about GPS and thanked my luck stars that I didn't damage either of the two figures that have gold plastic. Everything moved as it should and felt normal so I consider myself lucky.

If I ever sell mine, I'll be shipping him combined because I don't want to worry about pulling them apart and experiencing GPS.

    Good luck in your search!!!

Would Dinoking be sturdier? Gairyu doesn't use the same gold plastic as Bristleback.

His price has just be increasing as time goes by. When I first was looking for him, the going price was $150-200. Now it seems to be around $250-$350. I think you can piece him together at a reasonable price with one thing. If you really don't care for all those tiny purple guns. If you don't mind having the originals and can live with perfectly exact reproduce guns, it will save you a ton of money.

Dinoking is much more than monstructor. Besides the different shells and no GPS, it's just the same thing in different color. Though I love both my monstructor and dinoking separately. :)

what you do when you sell him is state a major disclaimer like this:

This toy suffers from GPS aka Gold Plastic Syndrome. Hasbro used to use a particular type of golden plastic in some of its figures (which can be identified by swirls in the gold plastic) and after time it would become brittle and crumble. Hasbro doesn't use that type of gold plastic any more but most old transformers (black zarack, Skyhammer, two parts of Monstructor) suffer from it. Buying this you must be aware that the figure has a chance of breakage at any time, so i can not give you a refund for any GPS problems

    something like that

There are no issues w/ Dinoking like there is w/ Monstructor. I have both mini-gestalts and Dinoking by far is my favorite. The loud color scheme of Monstructor is somewhat appealing, but due to the fragile gold plastic I won't even disassemble or transform him ever again...same goes w/ my Black Zarak!
