I doubt it would beat WALL-E, this is purely a comedy and satire of old monster movies, while WALL-E was full of heart. But I don't try to compare animated movies to each other. It will be tough between this and "Up", though.

Can't wait! I went into Kung Fu Panda with extremely low expectations, and it blew me away. Hope this one is as good.

I can't wait to take my 4-year-old boy to see this. And I gotta see his reaction when he watches it in 3-D!

UPDATE: Just saw it with my son--he definitely liked it, and I thought it was alright. Seeing it in 3-D definitely made it worthwhile and Seth Rogan as B.O.B. (the blob) and Hugh Laurie as Dr. Cockroach were standouts, but otherwise it was a quite average CG animated flick (definitely no Kung Fu Panda or Wall-E).

So you're one of the reasons they put warning labels on products eh?
Didn't get to see MvS yet, but I did get to see I Love You Man. Laughed my ass off. Might wait for the BluRay on this since I can't tolerate a theater full of children.

Went in, was a fun movie. The actor's really made the movie shine, and well, I'm a fan of anything that Will Arnette does. It was nice in 3D too, although I'm wondering about "Up" in 3D...

I took my kids (girl 4, boy 6) on Saturday and we all loved it! First movie I have ever seen with the new 3D technology and I was blown away. Previous experiences with the colored cardboard glasses including the 3D Blu-Ray version of Polar Express do not hold a candle to this new technology. No headaches and comfortable glasses you forget you are even wearing.

Even more amazing is that my kids kept the glasses on as well and loved the movie, too. Fun movie with lots of laughs and great 3D moments. Not just the "gimmicky" moments, but just the depth and beauty of some of the shots (like the very first shot passing through the meteor field.

So when you go see a 3d movie do they hand out paper 3d glasses when you buy your ticket or at the door? Or are they fancy non-disposable devices wired up to the chair?

At least in the movie theather I went to they handed'em out right after ya enter the theather, or there's a table right in front of it with the glasses.

Also, I could say that IMO this was quite a competent a movie in a few ways, like they balanced the action and plot better than in some movies where they throw out all the action at the end, for example. Okay, didn't write that well, but anyways. I thought that the characters ended up bein' both funny and servin' up to the plot for whatever part they were in. And, the best parody of "Encounters with the third kind" ever! :D

And yeah, they have come a good way on the 3D effects, as there was even a couple of instances of instant blinkin' and surprise.

Most importantely, it didn't completely miss out on the awesome potential of the premise, unlike "Hancock". Not gonna rant on that, as I always got the photocomic to put it out as filler.
