I'm sorry, but that seems unnecessary to me. For Mickey and Donald, I understand; they started out as monochrome in the animations. But Buzz Lightyear was always colored CGI. I'm confused and disappointed.

I'm already disappointed that they didn't do some kind of TF character reference with this one. They could have tried to have his alt mode be more like a seeker or something. Heck, they could have had Seeker references for his bot-mode too.

Jetfire / Buzz Lightyear made sense to me! This just doesn't seem like a Transformer, just more like any other Buzz Lightyear.

A full glow in the dark version would make more sense than this.

WHY a black-and-white Buzz? Mickey was created in B&W, and so was Donald. But making a monochrome Buzz Lightyear is stupid!

I think the reason Buzz is so spot-on is probably because Pixar's really touchy about the way their property is treated. Probably the same reason there aren't any Pixar charas in the Kingdom Hearts series. I think Takara's just happy they got to use Buzz period. As for the B&W, the only sense I can make is that they've done it for each one already, but yeah, it doesn't really work for the character. >.>

Actually, Disney has bought the rights to Pixar, so plan on seeing Pixar characters in the KH series.

But this figure in B&W? No. Doesn't work.

Are the disney figures even popular? Seams like the prices are going down on these quick, this morning I picked up a monochrome donald for 1000yen which is pretty cheap.

Donald and Mickey TFs are the textbook definition of novelty items. You get them if you want them. Don't get Buzz. At all.

Actually, the reason we've not seen Pixar characters in Kingdom Hearts is because the main series games were made before Disney bought them, and the side stories we've had since primarily focus on the existing story leaving less scope for new locations.

I'll expect them for the third one.

Regards the toy, it's not such a bad deco idea. It fits in with the rest, I can see it as a total collector oriented move to let the monochrome collectors own the whole series in black and white only.
