I really don't know what I spend anymore. It's in the thousands bacause I do Botcon every year, buying all the exclusives plus extras... But I also set up there every year so the profits from my booth offset that.
Hmmm... with the exception of TFA (the first line I have skipped in 25 years), I purchase one of every Transformer toy released in both the US and Japan, all exclusives, and all side lines (Diamond statues, etc...), so it's a big chunk. It's around $10K a year, probably a bit less this year due to not buying the main line. I can't keep it up going forward, though... I will probably focus on buying just store exclusives and Japanese stuff in 2009, then pick up US retail stuff in lots off eBay.
Hell, if I know. Usually, each line, I buy one of each, no repaints or retools. So probably about a good $800.
Good thread. I've often wondered about this topic myself. I also wonder, how do you guys finance the insane amount of money you are spending on these toys?
simple. I am single...no car payment since my two trucks are paid for......decent job working for the state...decent amount of disposable income goes to feeding the TF addiction...some goes in the bank....mine is also cash and carry totally, no credit cards at all....so when i get it i pay cash or don't buy it.... i also sell and get rid of different groups of my colllection as interest wanes in particular transformers...
