I think it might have been Liquitex or Artifex.....l cant recall but it was automotive grade, airbrush only. Sprayed well through my .5 needle cheapy airbrush but is a bit thick to send through my .3 Iwata. I will have to recheck the label, l might still have some

Gah!.... I can't airbrush until I replace my compressor (not happening until next year a the earliest with holidays coming up). I'll give outdoor brush-on a try and come back to the testing when I have my airbrush back up.

Α small tip on removing chrome safely and without risk on yourselves or the plastics: Coca-Cola. Put the chromed part on a sealed (as to prevent CO2 from evaporating) container and dip the part for a few hours to a day (depends). It will remove everything and leave the undercoat (if it has) untouched.

Np, you can also do the same with oven cleaning spray. Just spray a bit on it and put it an air tight zipper bag. It might take a lot longer though.

Ok, so here's a video I found that goes through an EXTENSIVE review of this stuff. The video is a little over 20 minutes long, but worth the watch!! He goes over a bunch of stuff for it.

If you guys want to see the thing been worked on an actual transformer toy (a G1 nontheless) I recomend you searching youtube for Toy Polloi and his Optimus prime fixing video. He uses the pens and makes a hand on chrome comparison between a completely unblemissed prime and his restored one.

    EDIT: Here you go

This is a really good video. The only question that I have is would the results be any different if the chrome was allowed to fully cure. He mentions in the video that he was impatient and with this stuff, patience is a necessity.
I decided to use what I learned from the video on some plastic spoons. I'll give them at least a week to dry/cure before I try clear coating them. I figured I'd try an aerosol and brush-on clear to see if spraying it on changes the nature of the gloss vs brushing it on.

Next Wednesday I'll start the clear coat testing! I'll give future a try but I think that he had the best results with a lacquer? I'm going to have to rewatch both videos.

I suggest taking some good pics of G1 masterpieces for the MP Appreciation Thread.
