EDIT: I added some lego ball joints to the wirsts, very easy all I had to do was remove the pins, cut off the old hinges, dremel out a bit of a round in the hinge parts on the hands and some glue!
I have added pictures showing this and his alt modes. Also I revisited the leg articulation so it was less chicken leg like.

Alt mode where you can see the corners of the bumper cut off

And finally the tipping function still works!

I did the moving canopy over his head trick and cut the levers off so I could make them moveable. Also I added a balljoint to his head which makes it look better as it is now higher up. The legs took a bit of work to mod so I could make him look less tall and skinny legged. Only downfall is that for the Dumptruck mode the bumber has some of the corners cut off on the side, no biggie as it doesnt affect the front.

sweet... man i love long hauls design. This mod helps the mold along alot. I can't believe hasbro didn't just do this in the first place.

Great job ! You actually succeeded doing the leg mod I had in mind (if I'm going to find it soon at all..). This exactly it ; Z knees, to get closer to the CGi art proportions.

Was it difficult ? Which part did you have to dremel/cut away ?

maybe i'm blind, but i don't see the leg mod. Aren't the legs already double jointed?

His mod allows the knee to bend backwards, i.e. chicken legs/ Z knees ; which makes for a more squat look.

    eh... well actually the opposite....

what you see in Peaughs vid is the lower leg offset forward. Chicken legs have the lower legs offset to the back, like you see in this mod.

Peaugh told me in his pictorial review thread the upper joint doesn't bend backward because the thighmold prevents it from doing so. I think BumbleB cut away a piece of that.

Quote from Peaughs thread : Originally Posted by shroobmaster View Post

Peaugh : Sadly, no, it's double jointed, but it folds FORWARD for transformation. It can't fold backward much without modification.

goddamn i want this guy. every mod i see done to him makes me want him more. i cant the bastard anywhere though. even online stores say soldout.

i love the leg mod to get them closer but they look kinda weird being chicken legs to me. maybe if they were posed differently they would look closer to cgi.

For the canopy, did you just cut the struts down and mod them to swivel on those screws? Does it affect the transformation or screw with the bed being able to dump?

Yeah I cut the struts off but that left the other part of grey plastic a bit mangled. I ended up turnin that bit(that goes over the screw post) around and reshaped and then drilled and screwed, with the required reshaping of the levers etc.

Can you please give closeups of the canopy mod with step-by-step instructions?

And when you say "Lego", is that the same balljoint Bionicles use? That wrist mod is the best part of the whole thing.
