    Hey guys,

I was about to return HA SS because of its inability to maintain dynamic poses due to the rubber connectors on the legs/waist. It bothers me enough that I cannot pose him without those dang rubber connectors pulling the legs back to its "home" position.

THEN I decided (because I do rubber molding/casting for a living) to mold and cast those rubber parts and shoot them with a softer, more flexible yet durable urethane!

Here is what my HA SS is able to do now, and there is no way I'm going to return him anymore! He rocks with his new level of articulation!

I casted the new parts with a black pigment which IMO looks way better than the original gray parts.

    Thanks and enjoy!
    Savio.

Very nice! Don't suppose you'll be making more of those casts, would you? :D

I'd be open to making more, and they work REALLY well. I will have to do them during my work shift, and it will depend on how heavy my work load is whether or not I can squeeze them in. Pretty light at the moment.

Installing them is super easy. It only takes the removal of 3 screws: the top of each leg and the slide screw in the torso.

The castings come out EXACTLY like the factory originals, except that I make them in black - much easier than matching the gray.

PM me if you'd like a set. I'm not set up to do more than 5 sets in a given week, and it isn't work related so I have to be real casual about doing it. Ya know? But again, I can do a few here and there, no problem.

Dude, that rocks! Now make him some smaller forarms or bigger hands and blades, cause those are the only things that are completely out of balance on the figure.. Well.. Other than the flippin carpack on his back.. Lol, great job man, really.

Wow, thanks for all the responses and interest! The new rubber "hydraulics" vastly improve the figure. My HA SS can now hold poses just like any other transformer (damn near indefinitely - well, so far!).

    Here are the steps:

    Process involved:
    1. setting up rubber mold,
    2. mixing up materials (flexible urethane and blk pigment),
    3. shooting mold (3 hour cure time),
    4. demolding parts,
    5. clean up (trimming off flash/sprues),

    Regards,
    Savio.

I just "over stretched" mine, and they work better. I think you should look into mass production, haha.

Radicons, please review the moderator notes in savio-prime's post. There is a sale thread now in the Radicons Junk Pit for him to handle orders. This will allow this project thread to continue as a discussion about the project itself. :thumb

Just received mine. Easier than I thought to install and the result looks great! The figure is much easier to pose with this upgrade. Get it!

    awesome upgrade

Just got mine in the mail. Other than the screw holding the body in the middle (which i had to heat with a soldering iron to get out) this went very smoothly and really imroves the figure.:thumb

A tutorial/instructions may be helpful here, if there enough people having problems with the install.
