Finally got an extra PRID Arcee and got to slicing up her stock guns. Everyone wants the smaller looking show accurate guns and the big ass gun that she comes with has those but they are at the tip of the big gun. So here's what I did...

    - Sliced off the tip of the gun
    - Hollowed the under side of it with a dremel
    - Made a notch for her thumb to slide in
    - Cut off the tips of her middle, ring and pinky fingers. Just took an exacto knife butted up against the index finger and cut straight down. Easy and doesn't effect the look much.

They fit in her hands nice and snug with friction and the notch for the thumb makes it very secure. Now all I have to do is clean them up and throw a little paint on.

Let me know what you think. Sorry to those of you who cannot find an Arcee but the second one is for a custom so it's not going to waist :D

These don't look bad at all. Very inventive. That said, I wouldn't do it when there are other alternatives that work nearly as well.

But that does look rather good man.

was planning to do something with the guns too which would hopefully avoid butchering the hands...

Yea, I considered this myself and wondered if anyone else would do it, but didn't want to cut up the hands myself. Glad someone had the nerve :)

Thanks. Yeah I had a coupon, needed a second Arcee for a custom too so buying something else to me didn't add up. As a customizer I find more joy out of making customs than buying them.

Yeah I didn't think that I would have to chop into her hands but I had got to a point where it seemed like the best choice. I don't really think they look all that bad. I suppose with more shaving of the inside of the gun they might have fit as is but the walls would be rather thin.
Oh I'm quite aware of the things my fellow radicons are doing with Arcee guns. I've seen maybe 3 or 4 versions of shapeways options but none were really the right look or size, plus none were free since I needed that second Arcee anyway.
Might try thinning the inner walls to see if they will fit without the "butchering." If I need a 3rd Arcee I might give it a go.

I don't know, modding the hands is a minus and the blasters are no more accurate than they were before.

I saw 6 today in one store, a horrible store for transformers buying. People just need to let them saturate. I like them a lot Lucs but I don't want to cut the hands. It looks better than the giga rifle regardless. :)

Love your work as always. I had a similar idea without modifying the hands and just finally got around to posting my W.I.P.. I attached a ball joint to the cannon. If you're interested, check it out here.

This is a good idea, but you could get away with the same result without having to cut up the hands.
