I bought Thunderwing awhile back and liked the figure, but felt he didn't really have a place in my collection and was too small.

Lately I have been watching some of the Gundam series of anime, and enjoying them. Putting two and two together, I decided to hack into Thunderwing to see what kind of Gundam I could make out of him. I had parts from a failed attempt to assemble an RX78-2 Gundam model, so I reused those (front of his chest, gun, and head only) to make my RX78-2 Wing variant. To my knowledge, there is no such Gundam but I figured why not.

For his shield I used the original cockpit piece from Thunderwing, which actually broke off soon after I got him out of package. I was a little upset about that but now looking at it I feel like it was for the best, as it makes a pretty decent shield.

I opted to show him in vehicle mode as the Gundam Wing model (from the Gundam Wing series) also has something similar.

Hope you enjoy. Comment if you're a Gundam fan!

Wow, that looks great! I'm a closet Gundam fan myself, just the toys, not the stories necessarily. Nice work.

I'll give points - usually people try to adapt Gundam kits into Transformers. I think this is the first time I've seen somebody do the opposite.

Thanks! I know my paint's not the greatest... I'm still working on my technique in general.
