"Bad" nothing. Turn A wasn't traditional Gundam fare, but it was still a beautifully drawn and written series. Let's try that again...

It couldn't be as bad as Gundam Seed Destiny.

Surely you mean Wing? Although Seed Destiny does come close...

Actually I forgot about Wing. Yes that is really bad. Some people may say Victory is bad. But that's their opinion, like mine is for Turn A.

That too. I've personally seen neither(well, I watched the first ep of Wing), but I've heard much worse things about Destiny.

I can't find the effort to hate it personally, Gundam has mostly just been about the money for a long time now and they'll be more of that in hooking a generation of young kids that'll be around for 5-8 years then making a show for teens that'll move on in 2-3 or trying to appease older fans that will buy it anyway regurdless of how much they bitch.

No matter what, the Gundam Brand is going to make money. From my travels to Japan. When it comes to Giant Robots, Gundam is king over their.

Thats a given, but a corporate buisness like Bandai isn't going to settle for just making money when making even more money is an option. Especially not when the world's economies are in such a crap state.

oh gundam still trying to cater to the few people left that want to see pre-teens piloting mechs? :lol

all in all though it doesn't look too bad. i really liked the enemy mobile suits more though, the gundam itself looks far too traditional gundam, where is the creativity here?

it's like they cookie cut gundams and keep them hot on the oven for the next series now a days?

say what you want about gundam wing, but at least it didn't have cookie cut gundams! :lol

i my problem is that they're all starting to look the same to me. there just is no creativity with them any more.

they have differences, but they're barely different.

i guess it is the same problem i have with optimus prime these days, until the movie at least, he was just the same optimus prime, same truck, same colors in the same spots, nothing unique, nothing added to the character.

    nothing new to the franchise.

at least not until bay added flames, has prime had any major differences.

it's nice to see prime as something other then a truck too, sometimes, like a car :)

In all honesty my interest in Gundam as a whole has mostly spawned from the various OAV's and movies then the TV series'. Only Gundam TV series I can actually say I enjoyed to any degree was Wing and SEED and even then those were not really that good.

From what I'm seeing I'm definitely getting the vibe they are skewing towards a younger demographic with this new show. Not necessarily a bad thing either as a lot of anime has kinda gone off the rails in...well a long time and maybe trying something different is a good thing. Wile it does not appeal to me personally I really can't get all that worked up about it, I mean at the rate there going they make about one good Gundam show once a decade so...

I don't get it. It doesn't look as bad as everyone seems to think it will be. In fact, it looks pretty entertaining. Is it just because the protagonist is a little kid?

I like how the enemy grunts are NOT freaking ZAKU-like again. I've had enough of those guys since SEED.

Eh, it looks alright, I might pass. Which would you guys prefer? Preteen or angsty teen as the protagonist, like we've seen a few times of lately.

I dont mind. The only thing is the character designs look a bit... generic? I dunno.

I've read this series is to pull in people who normally don't watch Gundam. I don't mind that. It's to pull in new viewers to the franchise and a lot of franchises have done that, trying to get non-fans to watch it.

This does actually look very fun.

It does look slightly "kiddish superhero robot" to me. One of the characters reminds me of the cop from Big O. the man with the gray beard looks familiar. Other than that, it can't be as bad as SD Gundam. I've enjoyed the other Gundams, even Seed and Wing

Please dont just refer to it as SD Gundam. Its SD Gundam Force. SD Gundam is a long line of model kits made from WAY before SD Gundam Force was brought to the US and has a lot of history and story behind it. SD Gundam Force was made to cater to non asian countries. The BBSenshi Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors is a much better anime.
