    He does look good.

Though... While they're better than blue tires, grey tires are just...
    Tires should be black.

Yeah, it's the whole Unpainted Gray Plastic thing that I think makes gray look particularly cheap and unfinished on almost any figure.

I like the grey tires. It breaks up the entirely black front end of the car mode.

WELL I sure went from "okay, a SG deco would look neat on this I guess but I don't need it" to "WANT."

I agree, they provide a good color break up.

I'm worried on how I'm going to get this guy, isn't he supposed to an exclusive?

Again, the exclusive deco manages to look better than the main release. :D

I'm also not a fan of grey tires but it does provide colour contrast, which is sorely needed in the largely black colour scheme. Also, it may look better in person. I also think that the grey tires give the impression of something akin to tank treads on the alt mode.

The Shadow Ghost deco of Calidus may be the variant of the mold for me. For some reason the normal Hot Rod colours don't click with me. I like the Asterisk variant but with the SG variant coming out, I'm going for the black as I only want one iteration of this mold.

I agree with both Vangelus and Bobby S i.e. this mold is actually mediocre. Feels like MMC has stagnated.

I thought Bobby gave Calidus a pretty positive review. The figure has faults, but he's one of my favorites they've released recently.

Start watching from minute 24:15. He admitted to recommending Calidus and Dicamus, but he thought they are not that much better than Hasbro Springer. Ouch.

I agree with pretty much everything he says there. I am not feeling that I am getting a bang for my buck when it comes to recent Reformatted figures. They are not terrible figures but they feel like a money grab.

When it comes to 3rd party nominations later this year, when it comes to myself, MMC will have zero representation.

I do think that MMC is more prolific with their releases than other 3P companies and that may potentially hurt the finish of the figures. I would argue that they've kept the same quality and pricing as they have in the past, but that other companies have increased the quality and/or reduced prices. Their figures have always been up and down though and for every Carnifex or Spartan there is an Azalea or a Jaegertron. I don't think Calidus is a top 5 figure for me this year but it's probably top 10.
