It's not just the proportions though, it's the details. If you look at the chests of all the other bots, they reference details from the toon models. Onslaught has none of those in these line drawings and I can't believe that the transformation would make them impossible to add.

I dunno about this one. I feel like Unique Toys already got the Sunbow models pretty spot-on (for the most part, and maybe Onslaught aside). I'd rather have seen them corner the market with Defensor than make a third Bruticus. It doesn't look bad, mind you, but the integrated combiner pieces worry me. The main reason it isn't usually done is because it's rarely done remotely well. The only time I can think of that it worked okay was the head for Hercules folding into Hook.

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I was thinking of proportions and/or engineering cues from the G1 toy. I certainly see where MMC's designer(s) had opportunity to reference sculpt details from the toon, which wouldn't have impacted the toy's combiner function. It is really odd that MMC went in such a direction with one member out of the team.

Onslaught's alt-mode truck nose also had a very different look in the toon, has yet to be realized in toy form.

This is suppose to be Masterpiece?

It looks like a modern G1 toy aesthetic.
I wonder how big it will be.

In theory Ocular Max would be based on Studio Ox artwork. Of course there are several different artists from Studio Ox so that could mean several things, and potentially based on different G1 sources to begin with.

I wonder on size to. Big individuals, small combined, or some miracle of engineering?

A couple versions of OX art for reference. Ocular Max Fraudo is decidedly not this version, at least.

Looks like it can have some potential.

Where I am at in my Masterpiece Collection is where ToyWorld set the bar with their Devestator. It has to match that height (doesn't have to be exact but as close as possible).

As far as asthetics, I enjoy G1 inspiration at its core, I'm not a toon or toy only guy. Truth I like the combo of both inspirations. So far this looks good. Just want to see the height. If not it still has a chance with robot form bots fitting in.

I wonder with all these Combaticons if FansToys will tease a Bruticus as well.

Anyone else think this is small scale? Non MP scale?

They dont look to "fit in" (scale wise) w Mirage, Trailbreaker, Inferno, etc...

Happy to see MMC getting back into combiners with this set. (Where you at Defensor?)

I'm thinking if they feel comfortable dropping the news that the team is on its way, I would imagine a lot of the engineering is done and prototyping should be coming down the line very soon if not already in the works. Their Defensor probably just didn't get pass the approval table so they're going back to the drawing board with that.

Either way, excitement. MMC Combaticons... much excitement.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Call it a hunch; I expect this to come in at Feral Rexish size, maybe like 15 inches. We shall see :p

[add] Just took a peek at Rex, he's shorter than I remember lol
Anyway, I just don't think Oc Max Bruticus will come in at TW Devy heights; I'm still predicting about 15. I'd be OK with that. I'd like to support MMC on this project because it kinda feels like they're going out on a limb with this combiner, and I want the Oc Max line to keep going.

What mold differences would there even be? Just throw some different paint on it and sell it again - I know I'd be down.

They could still do a bruticus in that scale. Feral rex was mmc. This is ox perfection series.

The concept is cool, but I don't like too G1 toy feet and swindle looks a bit derpy. Just my opinion though.

I am guessing the purpose of this is to see fans interest first, so they know if they should or shouldnt spend time / money on it.

I mean, what happened to their protectobots?
