I usually maintain a very strict "no repaints" policy for financial/space-related reasons but this is a very cool idea for a retool & the Unicron Trilogy desperately needs some unlicensed loving.

(also, I really don't get the complaints about her not being "feminine" enough. Not every robot needs high-heels & a molded chestplate to be identified as female).

I am more concerned with the stupid grey tires. Translucent red tires would sell me this toy. In Galaxy Force/Cybertron all the Speed Planet characters had translucent tires. It was a theme.

 

Yeah, I'd definitely be in w/a female head/faceplate. Even as a separate release (like the G1 Carnifex set) w/some other goodies if that's what it takes. I'm not super attached to UT, but I do like having more fembots.

Just some praise about botfest, this was the first convention ive attended in singapore that actually REVEALED something! Both thunderclash and nitro convoy were super awesome reveals and i nearly went WHAT when i saw them in the case, well i did but not as loud as i should have. CONS ARE NOT JUST GLORIFIED DEALER ROOMS, FOLLOW BOTFESTS EXAMPLE

What Scaleface said. Override is a funny character, in that only the USA version was dubbed "female". The Japanese counterpart was male. So in this particular case, you have a MALE ROBOT that gets changed into a female in our market... meaning, "a more female body" wouldn't even be accurate to the character!  

But I'd be amazed if there was enough interest in this to sell more. I think the majority of interested folk have the benefit of time and poor memory - the Unicron Trilogy was REALLY bad. I just watched it. It's unspeakably terrible. Wanting toys from that series is... well, it's not a healthy collecting habit, imo.  

 

^The Unicron Trilogy may not be great fiction but all three toy lines had some pretty solid stuff that was worth owning for its own sake. Don't know if you've ever handled Galaxy Convoy but he's a really nice Optimus, for some, and in fact before MP-10 a few people considered him their favourite toy over the name.

And no, Nitro Convoy isn't anyone's favourite I don't think, but then maybe they need the repaint more than characters who've already had a turn.

all i was asking for was an alternate head....that's it...

and yea...i wanted that head to have feminine features to appease fans of both versions of the character...is that a problem? i mean it's okay that you like your women to look like men...i'm not judging you.

 

I thought SXS was leaning towards Nautica as their IDW Rodimus redeco/retool

 

I would prefer the front to be remolded to resemble the original more, and a female head. But it's not bad as is, particularly for an early prototype. I got Calidus Asterisk the other day and I love the mold.

 

I’m intrigued. I’d prefer an alt mode a bit more faithful to the original toy, especially the pronounced front fenders. It’s a very unique and cool look, IMO. But it looks nice, so I’ll consider it.v

 

Still needs translucent wheels though.
