I wonder what it could be....

 

Not Nitro, but I was cleaning out some closets yesterday and found this gal buried in the back of one! I'm taking it as a sign that I should definitely order Nitro as soon as she's back in stock somewhere.

 

This is a fantastic figure, and I swear it's mold fits Nitro Convoy/Override MUCH better than it does Rodimus.

 

I have both and I agree. I love Nitro more. He’s just so... nice.

 

So where can I get this guy/gal? I was hoping to get him/her off BBTS but they don't have a listing for it

 

PSX called him a New Years exclusive. So either they got the first run (which would explain why it sold out so fast) or it’s a true exclusive to them. Or more will be available at conventions..

 

He'll be available again at whatever next convention is going on that mmc has a presence at I was told and not too long after more copies will be available on PSX.

However he's still being produced in very low quantity is my understanding, apparently he's being treated like an asterisk release in that respect so I wouldn't expect him to be widely available after that 2nd batch. Probably gonna be it after that.

 

Any potential for a Dark Nitro repaint in the future?

Well, Ontario Collectors' Con is next weekend. I'm hoping to find Nitro there. Either via secondary market or possibly an official release. I remember whoever was doing the 3rd party Dinoking released one of the pretender shells as an exclusive there before. So who knows? Maybe?

 

Boss didn't tell me which con specifically, just said a convention. So whenever more are ready to go I suppose. I dunno which events besides tfcon mmc stuff is regularly sold at.

I can't say for sure at this point in time but I'm doubtful we'll see one to be honest.

 

I think historically MMC's sold exclusives at the two yearly TFCons, Singapore (actually a different Singapore event last fall from previous years) and a British con (either Auto Assembly/Roll Out Roll Call/TF Nation.)

Though none of those are before July.

 

CyberCityCon is coming up next month. They have a history of exclusives.

 

Mine should arrive today. This is one figure I am genuinely looking forward to tinkering with.

I do hope Dark Nitro eventually happens.

 

I would buy Dark Nitro Convoy in a second. I own the original. However, I won’t cry if they don’t do him. It’s a beautiful deco, but I’m happy with the two versions of this mold I already have.

 

I really wish this was available normally. I hate ordering through psx. Mine always gets caught up in customs forever. I guess there's no choice, though, right?
Also, I was really looking forward to this figure, but the possibility that I may not get it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't make exclusives out of separate characters. Pure repaints are fine and expected, but not a completely different character. Here's hoping it won't be too hard to get...

 

Well shit, I forgot to check the thread for a while and didn't even know this had been released...and in limited quantities...and will not be a general release.
