    I wonder could the gloss be removed by soaking just the chest piece in alcohol or thinners?

    I wouldn't risk thinners without knowing what kind of paint was used to achieve the gloss effect. Enamel thinner is nasty stuff. it's also much easier to just get a spray of top flat coat and use that. Just disassemble it so you can remove the chest and get a nice, even spread.

    other than adding a big old autobot symbol on his chest, not sure what else you would want. Roadbuster has always been plain AF orange on his chest :)

    Looks like the colors might've gotten tweaked a little before final release, then:

    I went with a more appropriately-sized Autobot symbol, after spraying a light coat of Tamiya flat matte to the chest.
    He's pretty damned perfect to my eyes now.

    Dang, now I need someone to clear coat it once it gets here. Not risking ruining a $100+ figure myself. WHY MMC WHY? What possessed you to do a glossy finish?

    They did the same WTF glaze on Carnifex, but that was a lot less noticeable somehow. Anyway I just want this big bruiser in hand. Its been long enough to wait.

    He's really not bad all add-on'd up. If you just want a representation of Roadbuster on your shelf, you already got a decent one.

    I really wouldn't even bother fretting over this if you aren't a fan of the comics, since this is just a very IDW version of him.

    thanks for sharing that video review. Damn, that glossy chest is really bad... that matte coat is gonna be absolutely necessary for me if i get this. I do prefer the orange from Revolver to be honest.

    He's always looked bad to me, so despite owning the majority of FP releases I decided to pass him on. I got Takara Roadbuster but he's pretty bad as well (especially compared to the stellar Whirl mold).
