Big win for my O's against the Giants today. What a comeback.

Wow, a month to go in the regular season and only 5 pages of comments? Baseball isn't so big around these parts.

Looks like the Cubs are coming on strong again. Other than that blip leading up to the All Star Break, they are now on the same tear that they started the season. Facing a stiffer test the next two days in MadBum and then Cueto, but I have to think these games mean much more to the Giants than they do to the Cubs at this point.

Diehard Cub fan since '89' but I expect the Giants to play with some urgency this weekend with their division up for grabs and their aces on the mound.

I think the Royals are pretty much out of the playoff picture now. My hope now if for a winning season with 82 games.

The series against the Cardinals is a microcosm of the Giants season. First two games, like the first half of the season- dominant starting pitching, timely hitting and great defense. Wins. Last two games, like the second half of the season- offensive well runs dry, stranding runners in scoring position, HORRIBLE bullpin decisions. BAD losses.

I hope Santiago Casilla doesn't live in SF. I think there might be an angry mob after him. 9 blown saves this season.

Awful news today. A big, big blow to the sport, IMO. RIP, Jose.

RIP Jose Fernandez. I'm not the biggest baseball fan, but it is truly a terrible loss, and he was so young. He was a great player, and he seemed like he had his life together. From what I read, he just announced that he was going to be a father a few days ago too, and it's a shame that his child will grow up and never get to meet his father. Accidents like this are scary because they can happen to anyone at any time, and it really makes me appreciate each day more and more.

I was shocked about Fernandez. I believe the Marlins should retire his number.

Giants and Mets tonight for the Wildcard game! Bumgarner vs... Thor? It's a miracle that the Giants even made it this far as poorly as they've played in the second half of the season. Let's hope we still have that even year magic!

As a former Torontonian, and a Blue Jays fan since the 80's, I couldn't be happier to see the Jays in back-to-back playoff appearances again. That said, I'm sad and thoroughly embarrassed at the behaviour of some Jays fans. Throwing bottles at players? Hurling racial slurs? I grew up in one of the most multicultural, progressive and polite cities out there, but lately, a few douchebags have really been making us look like shit by acting like morons. Go Jays, but WFT Toronto, stop pulling this crap!

What a great NL wildcard game, amazing pitching duel as expected between Thor and Madbum. Onwards to Chicago!
