I know it's a bit anti-climactic to show him off after already posting the Devastator thread (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/312291-constructicons-merge-kill-form-devastator.html#post4969486) but I thought he might deserve his own thread.
Hopefully it might help some other's working on a Mixmaster. :)  First off, I need to give credit where it is due. I took a couple of ideas from
Jbarb78's version (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/307921-mixmaster-constructicon-6-6-pic-heavy.html) - I thought putting the back of the truck inside the mixing drum was especially slick on that custom!

So without further adieu, here's Mixmaster transforming from "Ol Lefty" into truck and robot mode. If there are any steps you'd like to ask questions
about, or if there's anything in particular you'd like a picture of please let me know!

I glued some springs in here so it would help wedge this piece into the drum. It holds it in really well!

How I combined all of Barricade's and ROTF Mixmaster's hinges for the cab. Note that Mixmaster's head is actually hidden now. :p

I dremmeled some slots into the middle of Barricade's hinge here to slot the mixing drum's hinge in.

Robot mode. Despite the massive backpack he is surprisingly stable in most poses.

That's great dude. Excellent transformation work, and I'm really liking the G1 homage with the dual-blaster over his head. Very well done! Does the cement-chute store inside of the drum while he's in leg mode? Where'd you get the idea to name the truck Ol' Lefty? I know it's because he's the left leg, but did you think of that or is it a reference?

Yes. This guy needs his own thread. Very nice. What I like about Jbarb78's version is how simple and clean it looks. What I like about your version is how real it looks because you used more ROTF parts. Also that it looks like an actual Hasbro figure instead of customized.

Some really nice work here. Shows that you took time, and planned some things out, and the execution paid off for you in the end. :thumb

Like Solrac333 said, it already came like that - I immediately fell in love with the idea of having that name on Devy's left foot. :)  Thanks for the comments on the head: the dual blasters I actually added a day after I thought I was done. Something just seemed off about him until I added them.

Thank you! I really appreciate that coming from some veteran customizers!

Looks great man, always a fan of a non-partsforming Mixie. I think the best part is that it actually looks like a concrete truck, even more so than the ROTF come stock. Having been around atleast 1000 of them in the last 10 years, I consider myself an expert. Well done.

I used Energon Barricade's head with the "drums" on the side cut off, and actually used an old half a leg of a broken G1 Smokescreen for the head cover, heavily dremelled of course. The twin barrels were made from broken G1 seeker missiles.

W00t! Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Doh, not sure how I missed your question, but yes, the cement chute does sit inside the drum in both robot and leg mode.

i really wish i could do what you did with those heads! i took a few swings and am now a few heads short :)
are you using apoxie sculpt for the faces?
also, that hinging nightmare which assists the cement barrel and cab looks like it was executed with perfection!

Thanks guys, I was a bit worried the hinges might not come together right (especially when putting the pin back in) but it turned out okay. As for the faces, I didn't have to use any sculpting material for Mixmaster (they're all pieces of plastic carved out and glued together) but for Scrapper I used Mighty Putty for his face plate and a small flat piece of plastic for the top of his head. You have to act fast before it hardens but it bonds well with the plastic and you can always sand it down to make it even.

Come to think of it though, I did use some Mighty Putty to attach the Smokescreen leg piece to Barricade's head...
