40 bucks for that? Sheesh, that's steep. Even for TRU.

What's the deal with that box, too? It's like 60% empty space.

The GBP equivalent of £31 is a very good price for two deluxes.

I don't know why you all want to make America great again when compared to other countries, it's already great. The set will likely cost £40 (over $50) when/if it does come to the UK. Now that's worthy of an "Eck....", not $40.

Bummer, from the promotional images I thought the protoform Optimus figure might have been completely painted silver. I actually might've sprung for this set then... I have a weird affection/nostalgia for that protoform mold, since it was my first movie toy back in 2007 (and actually isn't a bad mold in its own right). And I like that little deluxe Optimus well enough, and currently only have the chrome version.

But with only a bit of silver on there, I'm passing.

Hasbro seems to think that making a bigger box adds $7 to each figure. Fine, TLK deluxe figures are $20. This is made up of a very bad DOTM deluxe that cost $12 and a 2007 figure that sold for $10. The biggest joke is Legion figures, some from 2007, with a $8.99 price tag.

They did the same thing with Star Wars. Put an $8 figure in a box and charge $15 for it.

Now that people are actually paying $20 for movie deluxe figures, instead of saying screw you Hasbro, the $20 price point will become the standard base level from now on. Completing 100% inflation since 2009.

Does that mean a deluxe figure next year will be $22 and $25 the next? We've seen price increases every year. $10 deluxe figures became $12.99, then we got $15 figures with comics that went to $17 with no comic. Now movie deluxes are $20. With no justification. We lose features, paint, accessories, and extras like comics. Labor cost and duty went way down moving production to Vietnam, yet we pay more. Hasbro doesn't seem to understand that eventually the mass market will say no. I've already refused to pay $20 for a deluxe and I'm sure a lot of other parents have as well. Adult collectors can't keep Transformers viable.

At least Walmart still wants busines and sells figures for less. They are selling TLK one step figures for $6.99, Deluxe for $16.99, and Voyagers for $24.99.

If this was sold in my country it would\'ve cost 170 Malaysian Ringgit.
Unless they raise up the price.

It's actually a decent looking set, both are pretty solid and fun molds. Worth checking out but wherever you are I'd probably wait for a sale. If this was $30? Hell yes

Hmmm, might have to keep an eye out for this when I go and look for the Marvel Legends MJ two pack tonight... And I can get 15% on one regular priced item too.

Of course I'll just end up coming home empty handed

    OUch! $40! :lol

But it's consistent with current "Premium" prices. I just want to point out that these molds aren't exactly that awesome. I have an abundance of deluxe Optimus (in CHROME!) from the 2-pack last movie... and Protoform Optimus is just okay, imo. I think the price should be closer to $29.99 for something like this.

On the bright side, these sets always seem to be plentiful (every movie release). I don't know if it's because so many collectors pass or... maybe they just send a lot! :)  I don't expect these to last till clearance (though, it could happen), but these will definitely stick around for a good 20% coupon or B1G1 sale! :thumb  It's really the only way I'm buying movie toys, given how I practically own all of them from the last few movies' identical releases! :lol

Yea, not that exciting for me. Already owned the originals and its a definite pass at 40 bucks. Maybe if they tossed a legends in there or something to fill that empty box.

I have never owned DOTM deluxe Optimus nor do I feel the need too, but I own and absolutetly adore the Protoform figure, I will gladly buy it again.
