I was just wondering. Energon Superion Maximus combiners were designated A1 thru A5, Constructicon Maximus combiners were C1 thru C5 and Bruticus Maximus combiners were D1 thru D5. Why was B1 thru B5 skipped? Could there have been another combiner planned in the very early stages that would have been designated B1 thru B5? Maybe another Autobot to even out the group with 2 Autobots versus 2 Decepticons? Maybe a Defensor Maximus combiner?
I don't think there was ever meant to be a "B" team, but that the letters corresponded to the team type. "A" for the Air team, "C" the Construction team, and "D" the ... destruction team?
I'm fairly sure that the letter prefixes simply represented the names: Arielbots, Constructicons and Desctructicons or whatever they're called.
Could it be for Energon Superion Maximus' dead brother? I've asked the TF Club to release future exclusives like the Clear Skyfall to make the "Ghost Brother". Anyway, the club responded they would consider it. Slim hope at best though.
No, Superions brother is an exact replica, which I guess is why he was never really considered a Character, he appeared once, twice maybe, and that was it. His only noteable appearence was helping Superion beat Bruticus + Constructicon.
true, Im not saying a See-thru (95% see-thru at least), with a tint of colour here and there wouldnt be awesome.
I would assume they simply re-used Superion's animation model instead of wasting time and money on a minor character. That would still leave the possibility of a planned B team open.
someday i'd love to see concept art for the missing limbs. I've always believed they must have had unique limbs at AT LEAST one point in the design phase, and i'm 90% Certain that Cyb Hardtop/Swindle was a rejiggered design from the destrution team (the way he's constructed and engineered has always seemed more Late Energon than Cybertron)
I think some people are reading into this too much. The jets were labeled as the Air Team, the constructions vehicles as the Construction team, and the military vehicles as the Destruction team. Which is pretty much why the Bruticus components weren't called the Combaticons, because there would be two sets of combiners designated C1-5.
There were no plans for a fourth team. The combiners were last-minute additions to the line. Given the limited release schedule that they could release them under, there were only two real options that they had considered: either make two combiners with wholly unique limbs, or the second option that they went with in the end, is having three different combiners but re-used limbs.
