There's a new Queen on the shelf! Look out, Deluxes, here comes my first (and likely only) Voyager fembot! (ooo look! It's size-class warfare!) So this is my TFA Slipstream. As a huge fan of Animated AND a fembot enthusiast AND a decepticon sympathizer, I was sort of bound by law to try making one. She's made from a TFA starscream, obviously, but with some pretty major surgery to make her look femmier. I'm sort of almost starting to not completely suck at sculpting. Here's the headsculpt in very unflattering close-up. If you ask me, the single least fembot-compatible feature on the original is the fact that the chest and shoulders are three miles wide, so I totally destroyed the torso and built transforming chest flaps which rotate up and inwards give her a more girlish figure. In alt-mode they slide back down to the sides of the cockpit. This meant getting rid of all the automorph gears (no big loss) but also the shoulder attachment points. Again, no big loss because she needed entirely new arms. I figured I might as well add more accurate shoulder pads and blasters while I was at it. She transforms MOSTLY the same. The shoulders are attached to the hinge connecting the backpack, and they don't rotate in, thus giving me more room for the larger head. I will confess the cannons have to detach and mount under the wing. Yeah, it's cheating, but there's a long and glorious history of seeker guns detaching for transformation, so that makes it okay, right? You can get away with anything if it's a G1 homage! Here she is with the original, which I repainted to a more accurate color scheme and haven't bothered posting until now. Honestly, he's less his own custom than he is a Slipstream accessory! I only did him so I could post him for comparison in her gallery. His face and some of his decals are from reprolabels. And here she is hanging out with the other two brothers I own. Won't be bothering to make a Thundercracker or a Ramjet. This mold is just too much of a hassle to paint! Maybe if Thundercracker hits retail I'll make a Ramjet. Maybe. The arms are mostly made from apoxie-sculpt, with shoulder and elbow ball-joints donated by a DYA Dead End. She also has a bicep and wrist swivel. I also resculpted her hands. One is my "three-finger" technique again, but for the grasping hand I literally cut each finger off and carved it down, then reseated them in apoxie. I'm much happier with that hand than the other. I would have redone the first hand to match, but who needs TWO grasping claw-hands? Not Slipstream, that's who!
